Streak for the Cash Picks and Analysis, October 19

Friday’s Streak for the Cash board has nine picks on the board this morning as we head into another football-filled weekend. There’s sure to be plenty of picks on Saturday and Sunday, but don’t overlook Friday’s picks as a good chance to get things moving in the right direction. There is some college football tonight as Syracuse hosts UCONN. There’s also game five of the NLCS, game three of the WNBA finals, more PGA Tour props, and some early soccer picks.

Here’s the ones I like the most headed into the day:

Picks for 10/19

8:05- Ben Curtis: Normally I take the tie, but not in this matchup. Both golfers played these nine holes at even par yesterday, but Curtis’ average distance to pin was closer by more than ten feet. Stenson finished even with nine pars, but Curtis had two birdies and a double bogey. History says go with Curtis too, Stenson only shot par or under par in just one of four rounds on the front nine last year, while Curtis did it three times in his four tries. Confidence Meter: 4

2:45- Lille win or draw: Lille comes into the match 2-4-2 and Bordeaux is 3-5-0. At home so far in Ligue 1 play they’re 1-2-0 with the only win coming August 19. Lille has gotten a win or draw in three of their last four and six of their first eight games this season. In head to head meetings both teams are 7-7-7 with three of the last four meetings ending in draws. That’s what I expect here. Confidence Meter: 3

8:00- St. Louis Cardinals: Picking against St. Louis in October doesn’t seem to be a wise path at this point. Lance Lynn will start for St. Louis while Barry Zito will try and extend the series. The Cards are hitting well even without Carlos Beltran (who may play tonight) and playing at home with a chance to move on to the World Series on the line. Zito has struggled on the road all year while Lynn struggled in game one, but pitched well at home throughout the season (8-3 with a 3.33 ERA). Confidence Meter: 6

8:03- Syracuse Orange winning margin: This prop puts the UConn total scores (TD+FG) against the Orange winning margin. Uconn lost by three last week at home to Temple and by 16 the week before at Rutgers. Syracuse’s offense has shown it can put up points but they lost last week by eight at Rutgers after eking out a win at home over Pitt two weeks ago on Friday night. I’ll go with Ryan Nassib and the Orange to pull of the win at home behind their passing offense, but I wouldn’t put any long streaks on this pick to be sure. The line right now is SU by 4. Confidence Meter: 3
