Good fantasy football defenses come and go extremely quickly throughout the year. Many “experts” recommend waiting until the very end of your draft to grab a defense since throughout the year there’s so much volatility. For example, the Ravens defense which has been so good for so long is suddenly horrible, and the Vikings D/ST who were on no one’s radar at the beginning of the year are a solid option this week.
Case in point, none of the three rankers agree on the #1 option this week. I think the Bears will have another great week against the visiting Panthers, Jeffrey has the Niners at #1, and Steve puts the Packers at Lambeau hosting the hapless Jags on top his rankings. Here’s the composite’s which give you a good idea of who to start based on the rankings of Jeffrey Littrell (JL), Steve Copps (SC), and me (ZT). NR is for those D’s not rated with counts as a 20 for averaging purposes.
