ESPN rolled out their new fantasy hoops mini-game which is a fairly simple 5-player salary cap league. It’s a floating cap league setup which means that your salary cap can move up and down based on your players performance. This is a new format for my personally, so I’m going be conducting an experiment throughout this season with two different approaches. More on that below….

Here’s the info to join our group which is a public group called “Fantasy CPR.” Throughout the year, I’ll be writing updates on how all the members of the group are doing, so come on over and join us. Check out the links below:

For my experiment I’m putting two entries in, one called “Fantasy CPR Big Names” and ont called “Fantasy CPR Balanced Game.” I’m going to spend the cap on big names in one entry and go for a more balanced approach with scorers who can fill up the scoresheet in multiple categories. In this format, we’ll see through the season which strategy pays off.

Here’s my rosters (barring injury) for week 1.

Fantasy CPR’s Big Name

G-Russell Westbrook-OKC
G-Raymond Felton-NYC
F-Lebron James-MIA
F-Kevin Durant-OKC
C-Brook Lopez-BKN
Head Coach-LA Lakers

Fantasy CPR’s Balanced Game

G-Rajon Rondo-BOS (one of the best values in the game IMO)
G-Ty Lawson-Den
F-David Lee-GS
F-DeMarcus Cousins-Sac
C-Al Jefferson-UTA
Head Coach-Oklahoma City Thunder
