Streak for the Cash Picks and Analysis, November 5

My Monday Night Football pick is listed below as Drew Brees and the Saints host Michael Vick and the Eagles tonight. The rest of the my ESPN Streak for the Cash picks are in this post. Photo by Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

Monday in Streak for the Cash isn’t as busy as this past weekend was, but there’s still eight picks in order to use to build your streak. Things start in the ATP World Finals with Andy Murray taking on Tomas Berdych.  After the early pick, there’s a pair of soccer picks before we settle in this evening with Monday Night Football, and a couple NBA picks.

Yesterday, my picks (click here to check them out) went 10-2 overall, but unfortunately I couldn’t avoid the two traps and my own personal streak went down with Eli’s off game in New York. Here’s how I plan on getting things headed back the right direction:

Streak Picks for 11/5

8:45- Any other Result: Murray is playing well, but in seven previous meetings only once has he defeated Berdych in straight sets. In fact, Berdych is ranked #5 (Murray’s #3) and has won four of the seven times. If it was a straight-up pick, I’d take Murray but I don’t think he’ll take it in straight sets. Confidene Meter: 4 (out of 10)

3:00- West Bromwich Albion win: West Brom has played well in their first nine games going 4-2-3. They have lost their last two to solid competition in Manchester City and Newcastle. At home though, Southamption shouldn’t shouldn’t pose much of a problem. Southampton is just 1-1-7 and has yet to even earn a draw on the road. Confidence Meter: 6

Nov 4, 2012; New York, NY, USA; New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony (7) takes a shot against the Philadelphia 76ers during the second half at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks won the game 100-84. Mandatory Credit: Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

7:00- New York Knicks: The Knicks beat Philadelphia 100-84 yesterday. New York is relying on hot-shooting and Philadelphia has had a strong home court advantage, so it’s not a lock. However, Carmelo Anthony is leading an inspired effort by the Knicks and I think they’ll get the road win. Confidence Meter: 5

8:30-New Orleans Saints: I wrote about this game in my NFL Picks column (click here). The Saints at home are the pick. Confidence Meter: 7

10:05- Golden State Warriors: The Kings are a mess ranking last in scoring defense and FG percentage defense. Their getting pounded on the boards and Sacraments dropped three of four to the Warriors season. Golden State is coming off a nice win over the Clippers in LA and now will head to Sacramento in this Golden State showdown. Confidence Meter: 4

10:15- Length of Longest TD Play: This is a cool prop pitting longest TD against points scored. With these two teams, I think it could easily be a 30+ yard TD and I don’t think they’ll score that many. Confidence Meter: 5
