Streak for the Cash Picks and Analysis, November 7

James Harden and the Rockets look to launch over the Denver Nuggets tonight in Houston in one of the 13 games on a full NBA slate. They’re one of the three NBA picks I like tonight in Streak for the Cash. Photo by Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE

Streak for the Cash is back to a full day or picks after the election night special yesterday. Today there are 14 picks on the board with ATP World Finals tennis getting things started this morning, some UEFA action this afternoon, and then basketball, MLS playoffs and MAC football in action tonight.

Streak Picks for 11/7

8:50- Novak Djokovic: This should be a great match, and could go either way. Their last six meetings have been split right down the middle 3-3 with Djokovic holding the overall series lead 9-7. The match is in London which would seem to help Murray’s cause, but I have to go Djokovic based on higher ranking and series history. I wouldn’t put any winning streak greater than one on this pick though. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

2:45- Braga win or draw: Of the two soccer picks, I like this one the most. Braga dropped the match at Man U a couple weeks ago 3-2 but will be at home where  they are undefeated in their last three matches and have only lost one of their previous seven home games in any competition (La Liga and UEFA). Confidnece Meter: 4

8:03- Ohio Bobcats: Ohio hosts Bowling Green as they look to keep the pressure on Kent State atop the MAC East. They lost at Miami of Ohio two weeks ago but have won all their home games and tend to do well at night in Peden Stadium. Bowling Green won’t be a pushover though having won their last five in a row and beating the same Miami team that beat Ohio 37-12 on October 13. Their only conference loss was to red-hot (until last night) Toledo. This should be a great mid-week college matchup, and I think the Bobcats pull it out at home. Confidence Meter: 5

8:05- Houston Rockets: The Rockets have have exploded out of the starting gate thanks mainly to the stellar play of James Harden. They’ll look for their first home win against the Nuggets who just won their first game of the year last night against the hapless Pistons. Denver hasn’t dominated like many thought they would, so I’ll take the hot Rockets while the Nuggets roll in on the second half of their back-to-back. Confidence Meter: 7

8:08- New Orleans Hornets: Coach Monty Williams has the Hornets playing well and I think they’ll get this win with or without Anthony Davis (concussion). The 76ers have been a mess early in the season and have dropped back-to-back games against the Knicks. The guard matchup between Greivis Vasquez and Jrue Holiday should be a fun one to watch. Confidence Meter: 6

9:05- Sporting Kansas City win: Sporting KC is down two goals after the first leg of their matchup with Houston. Even if KC wins by just one goal, Houston will move on so look for KC to be in attack mode all game. In their two regular season games, the teams played to a draw, but I think Houston will be more defensive-focused in this one. Confidence Meter: 3

10:40- San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs are rolling and are 4-0. The Clippers meanwhile are 2-2 having lost to the Cavs at home in their last game. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan have been playing well and were able to get some rest as the Spurs crushed Indiana on Monday. San Antonio is 24-4 in its last 28 games against the Clippers in LA and is in great form coming into this game. Confidence Meter: 7
