ESPN Streak for the Cash Picks and Analysis, November 27

The Michigan Wolverines led by guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (10) lead the Big 10 into the Big 10-ACC Challenge tonight in one of the ESPN Streak for the Cash matchups. Check my picks below. Photo by Brad Penner-US PRESSWIRE

There’s plenty of hoops from the NBA and College Basketball on tonight’s ESPN Streak for the Cash board. In fact, 13 of the 17 picks come from the hardwood. There’s four soccer picks to get things started from international leagues this afternoon ,and then we go all basketball for our picks tonight. Here’s the one’s I like the most with a quick reason why I’m picking the way I am and a quick rating on the confidence meter.

Streak Picks for 11/27

12:00- Galtasaray wins by 2+ goals: In the fourth round of the Turkish cup, Galatasaray are massive favorites (-1250 for the win). They’ll win and it should be by multiple goals. Confidence Meter: 6

2:45-Sunderland win: Sunderland currently sits 16th in the table as they host last place Queens Park. In 13 games QPR has only collected four points and has yet to win a game. Sunderland hasn’t won a home game outright, though, in their last three tries dating back to September 29. Confidence Meter: 3

3:00- Aston Villa win: Aston Villa and Reading have both struggled mightily to start the season and find themselves at 18 and 19 in the EPL table in the dreaded relegation zone. Villa is 2-4-7 and Rading is 1-6-5. The reason I’m taking AV here is they did get a nice draw with Arselnal their last time out and a couple weeks earlier they played tight with ManU before losing 3-2. Reading has struggled on the road especially, but could get the draw in this one. Confidence Meter: 2

Nov. 23, 2012; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic (1) shoots the ball during the game against the New Orleans Hornets in the second half at US Airways Center. The Suns defeated the Hornets 111-108 in overtime. Mandatory Credit: Jennifer Stewart-US PRESSWIRE

7:05- Phoenix Suns: The Cavs continue to play without injured star Kyrie Irving as they return from an 0-3 road trip to Orlando, Miami, and Memphis. Phoenix knows about road troubles going 1-5 on the road so far this season. The Suns won in Phoenix earlier this month and I think Goran Dragic will take advantage of Irving’s absence to lead the Suns to the win. Confidence Meter: 6

7:15- Big Ten: My picks are Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, and Iowa for the Big 10 with  Maryland and Wake getting wins for the ACC. 4-2 Big Ten at the end of the night. Confidence Meter: 4

7:33- Michigan winning Margin or Tie: The Wolverines have looked exceptional in their first five games with only Pitt able to stay within 14 of John Beilein’s hot-shooting team. The Wolfpack will be the first ranked opponent they have faced, but NC State went cold just two games ago when they were dispatched by Oklahoma State by 20 in the final of the Puerto Rico tipoff tourney. They didn’t look great in their last game either edging UNC-Asheville by just two at home. The Crisler Center will be fired up and I think Michigan at home will dominate. Confidence Meter: 5

7:34- Trey Burke: Burke has averaged 16.4 points per game this season although his low of 10 points was his last time out. He’s matched up here against C.J. Lesie who’s averaging 10.8 points byt consistently scores between 11-14. Burke should be able to get the win in this prop, but its going to be close. Confidence Meter: 3

9:18- Maryland: The Northwestern Wildcats remained undefeated by beating Illinois State in overtime in their last game. They haven’t played any bigtime programs yet though while Maryland has cruised to four straight since losing to Kentucky by just three in their season opener. The Terps have the more talented of the two teams so don’t let the record fool you-look at who they’ve played. Confidence Meter: 6

9:33- Indiana wins by Double Digits: The Hoosiers fave a huge test as UNC comes to visit. The preseason #1 has won each of its first six games by double-digits although it needed overtime to dispatch Georgetown. North Carolina lost by 11 to Butler but has looked dominant in its other games as they’ve moved to 5-1. They’ll be without P.J. Hairston, their leading scorer, which is why I’ll go with Indiana to win big at home. Confidence Meter: 4

10:05- Sacramento Kings: The Wolves have Kevin Love back, but he’s still limited by a protective pad which is hurting his shooting. Besides Loe’s shooting woes, the main problem Minnesota is having is  defending opposing guards. In their last game, they allowed Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to score 44 points as the Warriors beat Minnesota 96-85 behind a big fourth quarter. The Kings have been getting good guard play of their own especially from Tyreke Evans winning two of their last three including their last two home games against the Jazz and Lakers. Minnesota has lost six of seven in Sacramento and five in a row overall. The Kings are playing better and at home, so I’ll go with the Kings in this one. Confidence Meter: 7
