ESPN Streak for the Cash Picks, November 28

The Duke Blue Devils and forward Mason Plumlee  will be well-served by their early-season tests as they return home to face Ohio State in a marquee college basketball match tonight. It’s one of a full-slate of Streak for the Cash Picks broken down in this post. Photo by: Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE

It’s another early soccer and hoops all night day on ESPN’s Streak for the Cash game. With all our fantasy football week 13 rankings to finalize today, my analysis will need to be quick. I’ll try to keep it terse and accurate and continue my momentum from yesterday (7-3)

Picks for 11/28

11:00- Montpellier win: Montpellier is favored at home as they host Nice in the French  Coupe de la Ligue. The two teams faced off in Ligue 1 about a month ago and Montpellier won 3-1. They’ve won three of their last four outright at La Mosson (their home stadium). Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

2:45- Liverpool win or draw: Liverpool has won of drawn their last eight EPL games. Tottenham has been good at home throughout teh season but lost to Wigan Athletic two home games ago, making the Reds a solid pick with the draw as the head to White Hort Lane. Confidence Meter: 5

7:00- Big Ten: The tie is enticing on the ACC side, but Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Illinois are heavy favorites in their games meaning that only one of Ohio State, Penn State, or Purdue would need to win to make this a Big Ten 4-2 win. That’s what I think will happen, so I’ll go Big 10 for the second day in a row. Confidence Meter: 4

7:03- Wisconsin wins by Double Digits: The Badgers host Virginia in their ACC-Big Ten game. They’ve won all three of their home games easily but have lost at Florida (then-#10) and to then-#14 Creighton in Las Vegas. Virginia will be going on the road for the first time since their opener which they dropped at George Mason by 4. Their other loss was by 6 at home against Delaware. Winsconsin should be able to win this by 12-15 points especially since they’re at home. Confidence Meter: 6

7:05- Portland Trail Blazers: Pick against the Wizards until they win even though Portland dropped a road game in Detroit their last time out. Confidence Meter: 5

7:32- Michigan State: State hasn’t lost since their opener to UCONN but has has some close calls at home against Boise State and ULL. Miami lost when they went on the road to Florida Gulf Coast and gives up lots of size to teh Spartans. Michigan State on the road is a solid pick and should win as long as they don’t go turnover crazy. Confidence Meter: 7

7:35- Detroit Pistons: Phoenix played last night in Cleveland and didn’t look great before pulling away late to beat the short-handed Cavs. Detroit meanwhile has won their last three home games and three of five overall and will have an extra day of rest. Confidence Meter: 5

8:05- New Orleans Hornets: Not sure why most streakers are going with Utah in this one. Utah is just 2-7 on the road this year with a triple-overtime win in Toronto when the Raps were without Kyle Lowry and a win over the hapless Wizards. In their last road game, Utah fell to Sacramento before returning home to defeat Denver in their last game. The Hornets return home where they’re 2-4 coming off a nice win in LA over the Clippers. The Hornets beat the Jazz in their meeting earlier this season on a game-winner from Greivis Vasquez. Confidence Meter: 5

9:35- Duke: The Blue Devils at home straight-up? I’ll take the Dukies against Ohio State who has yet to face a ranked opponent or play a true road game. Confidence Meter: 7

10:40- Clippers win by Double Digits: The Wolves finally got a true K-Love input last night and snapped my streak as they knocked off the Kings in Sacramento. Tonight though, they’ll be playing the second of their back-to-back games against Blake Griffin and the Clips. LA has dropped their last four in a row and will be ready to break out tonight at the Staples Center. Confidence Meter: 4

12:00- Saint Louis: The Billikens and Huskies have both had up-and-down starts to the season. Saint Louis has played a tougher schedule and Washington has dropped their last two including a home loss their last time out to Colorado State. Both teams struggle on the boards so it really comes down to whose shots are falling, but I think St. Louis gets the win out West.  Confidence Meter: 5
