Streak for the Cash Picks and Breakdown, December 7

There’s 15 picks on the Streak for the Cash board today but it’s definitely not just more of the same as there’s plenty of variety along with the usual basketball and soccer picks. To keep things interesting the schedule has picks today from Women’s College Volleyball, Men’s College Soccer, and the FCS Playoffs.

Yesterday, I finally got some momentum going 5-2 overall and getting to a winning streak of four in my personal (most confident) picks. Hopefully I can build on that momentum with my picks today. Of the 15 picks on the board, these are the ones I like the most:

Picks for 12/7

12:00- Brondby win or draw: I readily admit that don’t know any players on either team, but Sonderjyske has one win at home in 10 games making Brondby the way to go. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

2:35- Hamburg SV win: Hamburg is 6-3-6 overall and 4-0-3 at home. In this one, they’ll host TSG Hoffenheim who is just 1-1-5 on the road and 3-3-9 overall. In Hamburg’s last home game they knocked off Schlake 04 3-1 and have earned a win or a draw in four of their last five in the Bundesliga while Hoffenheim has dropped four in a row. Confidence Meter: 4

5:05- Maryland Terrapins: The Terps have dominated all season and are making an appearance in the College Cup (final four of college soccer) for the 12th time. Maryland leads the nation is scoring at 2.61 goals per game and faces a Georgetown team in its first College Cup appearance. Maryland is 28-0 against the Hoyas and it would be a big upset if the Terps aren’t in the final. Confidence Meter: 7

7:00- Indiana Pacers: The Nuggets are just 4-9 on the road as they visit Indiana to take on the Pacers. Indiana has been heating up after a tough start and have won four of their last five including wins this week against the Bulls and Blazers. Denver lost to Atlanta on Wednesday despite a huge night from Ty Lawson, and I think they’ll drop another road game tonight in Indianapolis. Confidence Meter: 4

7:30- Chicago Bulls: The Bulls hit Detroit having won four of their last six as they look to win their 16th straight matchups with the Pistons. The Pistons lost their last game to the visiting Warriors and will need to bring a more consistent effort on defense if they expect to run with the Bulls. Marco Belinelli stepped up in his first start and should continue to play big minutes while Rip Hamilton is sidelined. Confidence Meter: 6

8:05- Montana State: The game will be in Bozeman Montana as the Bobcats host Sam Houston State in this FCS quarterfinal. Montana State has won low-scoring and high-scoring games on their way to an 11-1 record with their only loss coming to East Washington on October 13. The Bearkats of Sam Houston State finished 9-3 losing to Baylor and Texas A&M as well as Central Arkansas. The Bearkats eliminated Montana State last year in Texas so the home-team and crowd will be fired up for what should be a great game. It’s not a lock as the 97-3 split would indicate, but I do think Montana State is the more likely pick. Confidence Meter: 4

9:40- Lakers win or lose by single-digits: LA head to OKC and while I don’t think they’ll win, I’ll gladly take them and the 9 points in this prop. The Lakers are just 2-5 on the road but three of those five losses were by single-digits. Kobe is rolling right now and can will his team to victory in games like this. While Dwight Howard has struggled, the Thunder big-men will have their hands full as LA looks to get their act together as they travel to OKC. Confidence Meter: 5

10:00- Orlando Magic: Orlando is completing a West Coast swing as they travel to Sacramento. The Magic lost their shooting touch in their loss to the Jazz but started the trip with wins over the Lakers and Warriors. The Kings are coming off a win over the Raptors but had lost three in a row before that. While Sacramento has the better athletes, I think the Magic regain their shooting touch and can get past the Kings. Confidence Meter: 7
