ESPN Streak for the Cash Picks and Breakdown, December 10

The New England Patriots take on the Texans with quarterback Tom Brady (12) and running back Stevan Ridley (22) in a first-half prop and the overall game as a straight-up pick on a light day in ESPN’s Streak for the Cash. Check my picks out below. Photo by: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

It was a pretty wild Sunday across the NFL with some pretty major upsets and a major leaderboard crash in the early games. My picks didn’t fare well either, so hopefully Monday can be the start of a fresh streak. Here’s the picks I like the most from the seven on the board at this point:

Streak Picks for 12/10

11:00- Anzhi Makhachkala win/draw: These are the two and three teams in the Russian Premier League table coming into this match and it should be a good one. Anzhi has a good defense allowing only 8 goals in 8 away games. Zenit’s two losses have come at home, but I think the likely outcome here is the draw. Like with the Manchester Derby yesterday, these are two good teams so either way you pick the opposing team has a good chance. Like yesterday, I’ll take the draw and the higher team in the table, but only pick this if you’re in the red or on a W1. Confidence Meter: 2.5 (out of 10)

3:00- Newcastle United win/draw: Fulham hasn’t won outright since October 20 going 0-3-4 in EPL action since then sliding to 4-5-6 on the season. Their record is matched exactly by their opponent Newcastle but NU won their last game 3-0 at home and and are 2-2-4 in their last eight. Both these teams are struggling, but with the draw I’ll go with Toon. Confidence Meter: 3

8:30- New England Patriots: I broke this down earlier on this site, but I think at home New England will look to make a statement against the Texans whose early season dominance obscures the fact that they haven’t played any tough teams in the last three weeks and have been taken to overtime twice. Brady and the Pats in Foxboro during December are crazy good. Confidence Meter: 7

8:41- Brady/Ridley: This really is a toss-up pick, but I think the Pats D will be able to slow Foster but get gashed late, deep by Shaub as they typically do. That won’t matter in this prop though since it’s first half only. Confidence Meter: 4

10:15: Length of Longest TD Play: This is always a fun prop to monitor, but could go either way. New England and Houston tend to score long touchdowns and the Patriots pass defense allows them regularly. Confidence Meter: 5

December’s Data so far

Yesterday’s Picks: 4-8 December Total: 45-41 My Entry (most confident picks): 15-12 Current Streak: L3 Longest Streak of the month: W4
