Streak Picks for 2/20

10:15- Zach Johnson All Square or Winning: Although I think Jason Day moves on as I wrote in my picks post, this is basically a seven-hole prop giving the tie for Day as he takes on Zach Johnson. Johnson is the higher seed and I don’t see enough of a difference to think that this one will be going Day’s way this early to take him. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

12:55- Players halve the hole: In case your not familiar with the terminology, this prop just means that they’ll get the same score. Most of the time, this is what happens, but obviously either one could win it too. It’s not a strong prop either way, but most likely both play for and get par on the par 4 first. Confidence Meter: 3

2:45- AC Milan win, draw, or lose by 1: Pick against Barcelona is usually the fastest way to find red, but AC Milan is at home and getting a goal in this prop for the first leg of the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League. Milan has been playing well lately in Serie A, but playing Barcelona will be a different matter entirely. Barcelona knows they have the second leg at home, so I think they’d be satisfied with a 1-0 or 2-1 win and it wouldn’t shock me if Milan pulled out a 1-1 draw. Confidence Meter: 4

7:03-Any Other Result: Syracuse is giving 12 1/2 as they host Providence tonight and in this prop Streakers are giving 15 with the Orange. While Syracuse can definitely blow teams out at the Carrier Dome, for the most part they haven’t been in conference play. Providence has won four in a row including upsetting #17 Cincinnati and #21 Notre Dame and beating Villanova and USF on the road. While I don’t think they’ll beat Syracuse, I’m not comfortable giving the 15 since only at Lousiville way back on January 2 did the Friars lose by more than 15. They played within six of Syracuse when the teams met in Providence on January 9 and I think about 6-10 points will be the Orange margin of victory again in this one. Confidence Meter: 4

Jan 30, 2013; Waco, TX, USA; Oklahoma Sooners forward Romero Osby (24) and guard Steven Pledger (2) react during the game against the Baylor Bears at the Ferrell Center. Oklahoma won 74-71. Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

7:04- Oklahoma by double digits: OU are ten-point favorites as they travel to Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders. OU had won two in a row at home before taking Oklahoma State to overtime in their last game. They’ll face a Texas Tech team that is ninth in the Big 12 having lost six in a row including double-digit home losses to West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Since OU just play Oklahoma State so tightly,  I think they’ll have similar results in Lubbock where the Cowboys beat the Red Raiders by 24. Confidence Meter: 6.5

7:05- Toronto Raptors: Both the Raptors and the Grizzlies are in the second game of back-to-back’s to start the second half. Both teams won on the road as Memphis beat Detroit and Toronto won their fifth in a row at Washington. The Raptors have been a solid home team all year with a 14-13 record, and with Rudy Gay fired up to face his former teammates, I think they’ll get another win tonight as they play the Grizz in the Air Canada Centre. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- Indiana Pacers: The Pacers and Knicks didn’t play last night and start their second-half chase for playoff seeding as they face off tonight in Indianapolis. the Pacers are four-point favorites at home where they beat the Knicks earlier this season although New York got a win at Madison Square Garden. Indiana is an astonishing 21-5 at home while the Knicks are just 13-10 on the road. The Knicks are just 1 1/2 games up for the #2 seed in the East and the Pacers will be looking to make a statement coming out of the break as they continue to protect their home court with their defense-first style of play. Confidence Meter: 6

8:05- Oklahoma City Thunder: Oklahoma City is favored by three as they head to Houston to take on former teammate James Harden and the Rockets. The Thunder have rolled past Houston in their first two meetings, but they did lose their last two going into the All-Star break including getting run over by the Heat in their first-half finale. I expect the Thunder to bounce back just fine and get a win even though the Toyota Center hasn’t been kind to the visiting teams as Houston is 18-8 at home. Confidence Meter: 4

Feb 16, 2013; Houston, TX, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving (2) shoots during the 2013 NBA three-point contest at the Toyota Center. Mandatory Credit: Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

8:10- Kyrie Irving: This prop has the points of Kyrie Irving against the points and rebounds of Anthony Davis in the first half of their meeting on ESPN. Irving had 20+ in his last four before just six in his first-half finale.  In February he’s averaging 21 points per game. Davis has averged 10.1 points and 6.7 rebounds this month. In his last game, he was a moster, though, pulling down 11 boards to go with 21 points. This could easily go either way, but I think Irving will be ready to put on a show as the Cavs make a rare national TV appearance. The other concern with Davis is the limited minutes he plays at times in the Hornets rotation. Confidence Meter: 5

9:05- Kansas Jayhawks: The Jayhawks are one point underdogs as they look to avenge their only home loss of the season as they travel to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State. The Cowboys came into Phog Allen and won 85-80 on February 2 starting KU into a three-game slide. The Jayhawks have looked pretty great since that slide though getting big wins over then-#10 K-State and Texas. Oklahoma State has won four games but both their home wins have come in overtime against Baylor and Oklahoma. Kansas will definitely be motivated and I think they have the talent to get this “revenge” win on the road. Confidence Meter: 6

9:06- Baylor Bears: As they host the Iowa State Cyclones the Baylor Bears are favored by 4 1/2. Both teams have been wildly inconsistent, but have consistently struggled on the road. ISU is just 2-7 on the road while they’re undefeated at home. Baylor hasn’t been quite that good  at the Ferrell Center but they are 11-3 at home while going just 3-5 on the road. Iowa State is a good team when the game is at Ames, but on the road they’ve only beaten TCU and UMKC while losing road games at Texas Tech, Texas, and Iowa. I think Baylor is a better team than those teams and Iowa State hasn’t shown they can win consistently on the road. The fact that the Cyclones beat the Bears by eight earlier this year doesn’t mean as much as Iowa State’s struggles on the road. Confidence Meter: 6.5

10:05- St. Louis Blues: The Blues go to the Mile High City to take on the Avs tonight as they look to improve to 7-2 on the road. Colorado got a nice home win their last time out on Monday as they defeated Nashville. It was their first regulation win in five games as they continue to hover right around the .500 mark. St. Louis is six points ahead of the Avs as they look to get another road win after beating the Canucks in a shootout on Sunday, but  they weren’t able to win at home last night as they went down to the Sharks. Jake Allen got the start last night and the Blues plan on welcoming back Jaroslav Halak tonight. With a goalie in net who hasn’t started since January 26 and playing back to back nights, I’m not too confident in St. Louis, but I do think they’re the pick. Confidence Meter: 4

10:40- Celtics 3-Pointers Made or Tie: LA is favored by seven but they’ve been such a wreck while the Celtics have been tough since losing Rondo that it wouldn’t surprise me to see Boston win this game outright. The Celtics average just 5.6 three’s per game but in February they’ve been average 6.9. Games between these teams always seem to come down to the last possession or two meaning Boston should be able to get the cover in this prop. Confidence Meter: 5

11:05- Gonzaga wins by 15+: The Zags are 13 1/2 point favorites in this one as they host Santa Clara. They beat the Broncos by seven at Santa Clara earlier in the season, but have dominated home games as of late. Only two teams in all of conference play have been within 15 in the McCarthey Athletic Center, and I expect another blowout there tonight for Gonzaga who is still undefeated in the WCC. Confidence Meter: 6
