In one of tonight’s Streak for the Cash picks, the Michigan State Spartans and center Derrick Nix (25) will look to defeat the Wisconsin Badgers and forward Jared Berggren (40) for the second time this season. This time in East Lansing where I think the Spartans have a big edge at the Breslin Center. Find my picks for that and other sports action today right here. Yesterday, the madness of March hit Streak for the Cash with plenty of upsets all over the board. Unfortunately, my streak didn’t survive the rising red tide, so I’m back to square one with today’s picks. Hopefully, today’s day goes a little better.

Thursday’s Streak for the Cash options include a pair of golf tournaments and a pair of UEFA Europa league games followed by our usual mix of college hoops, NBA, and hockey tonight. There’s one new addition with a pick from the World Baseball Classic on the board as well. Here’s the picks I’m watching:

3/7 Streak Picks

6:30- Camilo Villegas: I tweeted this pick out early, early this morning. Follow us @FantasyCPR for picks and discussion. Here’s what the tweet said: “Camilo Villegas is my early-morning #SFTC pick based on his solid round 1 last wk at Honda Classic. both inconsistent so proceed w caution.” Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

11:53- Tiger Woods or Tie: If you’d rather go with golf than soccer today, Tiger makes the best early pick as he gets the tie as he and Rory attack the Blue Monster at TPC Dural. You can check my full event preview, but in this match I think Tiger takes the win since he’s in better form. Rory has struggled recently with his equipment and decision-making widom teeth. Look for Woods to win this especially getting the tie. Confidence Meter: 6

1:05- Chelsea win: The EPL teams always get a bit of a boost from streakers, but in this case I think Chelsea goes on the road and gets the win. Steaua Bucuresti is the top team in Romanian soccer, but did need pk’s to get to this point in the UEFA competition. Chelsea should be focused on this game, and as long as they play their best lineup I think they’ll get the road win in this first leg. Confidence Meter: 4

3:05- Tottenham Hotspur win: The Spurs are at home against Inter Milan in their Europa game, and again I think the EPL team gets the green even though they’re giving the draw. Tottenham is in incredible form with outright wins in five of their last six home matches in all competitions and wins in five of their last six overall matches as well. Inter currently sits fourth in Serie A and thumped CFR Cluj-Napoca to get to this point in Europa play. Gareth Bale is emerging as an elite talent for Tottenham and he should be able to get them a win in this one. Confidence Meter: 5

6:35- Dominican Republic: If any team is going to knock off two-time defending champion Japan in the World Baseball Classic, I think its the Dominican Republic. They’ve been red-hot in their two warm up games against the Phillies and Yankees. If they keep hitting the way they are, they’ll provide plenty of run support for Edinson Volquez. The Venezuelans are without their top starting option with Felix Hernandez sitting this one out so they’ll turn to Anibal Sanchez to stop the DR bashers. I really like the Dominican to challenge for the overall win in the tournament, so I’ll take them to get the win in this game as well. Confidence Meter: 6

7:00- Montreal Canadiens: Both the Canadiens and the Hurricanes are playing well as they meet in PNC Arena in Raleigh tonight. Carolina’s goaltender Cam Ward is out with a sprained MCL he sustained Sunday. The ‘Canes were still able to get their fourth straight win on Tuesday as they edged the Sabres 4-3 at home. The Canadiens will prove a tougher test as they come to town. Montreal won the earlier meeting between the two teams 3-0 and I think they’ll get another W tonight even though Carey Price has struggled in goal his last couple games. Confidence Meter: 4

7:00- New Jersey Devils: The Devils look to right the ship as they host last-place Buffalo who have dropped two in a row. The last game the Sabres won was over New Jersey last Saturday in a shootout. That loss was part of the Devils current six-game losing streak. New Jersey hasn’t lost seven in a row for 27 years, and I think this is a game they can break out of their slump against Buffalo. Confidence Meter: 3

7:03- Massachusetts: Umass is a one-point favorite at home as they host Butler but are getting no love from streak pickers as they host the more well-known Butler Bulldogs. The Minutemen are getting less than 2% of the Streak picks but are 10-3 at home and have won their last two games against Dayton and on the road at Xavier. Butler, on the other hand, has lost two in a row including a 32 point beatdown on the road at VCU in their last game. In true road games, the Bulldogs are only 6-4. UMass is at home and in better form, so I think they’ll win as they’re favored to by Vegas while bringing plenty of red to the Streak board. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

7:03- Georgia Bulldogs: The Bulldogs are underdogs even though they’re at home as they take on Kentucky. I think Georgia has the potential to pull this upset though after ending Tennessee’s winning streak in their last game. The ‘Dogs are 5-2 in their last seven home games and would have won their last three if not for a last-second shot at Vandy. Kentucky has played two road games since losing Nerlens Noel and lost them both by double digits. Tennessee, who Georgia just beat, housed them by 30; and the Razorbacks beat the by 13 in their last game. Kentucky needs to finish strong to solidify a tournament spot, but I think they’ll take a tough loss tonight. Confidence Meter: 5

7:04- Virginia Cavaliers: The Cavs may be in the tournament after upsetting Duke, but they can’t avoid a let-down like they had in their last game at BC if they expect to stay there. Virginia’s resume is a bizarre one with good wins but also bad losses. Tonight they’ll head to Tallahassee as four-point favorites as they take on the Seminoles. Virginia is just 3-7 on the road and have lost at Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and Clemson as well as BC all of whom have worse conference records than Florida State. That being said, I think Joe Harris and Tony Bennett rally the troops and get over their post-Blue Devil hangover to get this road win. It’s not a lock, but it’s the best pick out of the 7:00 starts. Confidence Meter: 6
