Any month that ends on a weekend, is sure to have a flurry of picks in Streak for the Cash to choose from. This month is no exception with a full board today, and I’m sure another one on the way tomorrow for the last day of March. Everything gets started with the EPL this morning, but there are plenty of options this afternoon from NCAA Locrosse, the WTA-Miami Finals, the NHL, PGA Tour, and the MLS. The biggest  game of the afternoon won’t tip off until 4:30 as Syracuse and Marquette tip in the NCAA Tournament East Regional Final. Tonight features the other NCAA Tournament Final out West where Ohio State meets Wichita State. There’s also picks tonight from the NHL, NBA, and the MLS nightcap.

With all those options to pick from, there’s something for everyone to pick as we come to the end of the month. Here’s the picks I’m focusing on for today:

3/30 Streak Picks

8:45- Sunderland win, draw, or lose by 1: Sunderland is at home as they host Man U in the first matchup of the day. Sunderland has only lost two home games by multiple goals this season in 15 matches and none in their last eight. While Manchester United definitely  has the firepower to win by multiple goals on the road, I think Sunderland’s defense-first style results in a 1-0 Red Devils win meaning Sunderland would get the green. Confidence Meter: 3

12:15- Serena Williams wins 2-0: Williams meets Maria Sharapova in the Sony Open Finals with both players playing well. Serena has dominated Sharapova historically winning 11 of their 13 matches. She’s won their last ten meetings in a row including the last six by straight sets and eight of the last nine. These two have looked destined to meet all tournament as they cruised past lesser competition. Serena is -150 to win in straight sets and I think she will rather easily based on their previous meetings. Confidence Meter: 6

1:00- Boston Bruins: The Bruins havs struggled recently winning just two of their last six games. For the Flyers though, the disappointment has been season-long. Philadelphia has lost their last four and look almost assured to miss the playoffs. The Bruins have dominated the recent series and are the better team, but the Flyers are at home and the Bruins are scuffling, so I wouldn’t put anything too long on it. Confidence Meter: 5

3:00- Nashville Predators: The Predators are horrible on the roas just 5-11-2, but tonight they’ll face the Avs who are only 11-18-4 overall although at home they’re 9-6-1. They have dropped four of their last five at home though. Earlier this season the Avs won at the Pepsi Center but Nashville had won the four previous meetings there. Since both teams can’t lose, I’ll take Nashville to get a much needed win in their playoff push. Confidence Meter: 4

3:40- Philadelphia Union win or Draw: The New York Red Bulls are getting all kinds of love from Streak pickers but are only 0-2-2 so far this season as they host the Union who have opened 2-0-1. The Red Bulls played DC to a draw in their only home game while Phily went to Coloradyo in their only road game and got a 2-1 win. Confidence Meter: 3

4:30- Syracuse Orange Winning Margin or Tie: The Orange are 4 1/2 point favorites as they look to avenge their regular season loss to Marquette. Back on February 25, the Golden Eagles beat the Orange by three at the Bradley Center where they finished the year undefeated. Syracuse came very close to winning that game, and the difference could be that this game is on a neutral court and the ‘Cuse zone and transition game is functioning on such an elite level. Originally, this was posted as a straight-up pick of which I was much more confident. Still, I’ll take the ‘Cuse to cover Marquette’s three’s especially since the Eagles average 4.2 three-pointers per game. This should be close, and I hesitate to give points which is why my confidence is only Confidence Meter: (when it was straight-up it was 7)

7:00- Washington Capitals: Tonight the Washington Capitals head to Buffalo where they’ll face the Sabres who they’ve already beaten twice this season. Buffalo may be without Thomas Vanek, their leading scorer, as they take on the Caps for the first time at home. Washington should be confortable on the road though where they’ve won their last three. Confidence Meter: 6

7:05- Wichita State 3-pointers Made: The Shockers are 4 1/2 point underdogs as they take on Ohio State whilel they average 6.6 three-pointers per game. The Shockers made 14 three-pointers in their upset of Gonzaga, but only needed five as they coasted by La Salle in the last round. The Buckeyes have only won their last two games by three points each and I expect another close one tonight. I’m not sure who will win, but for this prop I’ll definitely take the points. Confidence Meter: 5

7:30- New Jersey Devils: The Devils head to Sunrise to take on the Florida Panthers as they look to bounce back from a tough loss last night in Tampa. The Devils have dropped their last two games after losing Ilya Kovalchuk last Saturday in a game against the Panthers. The Devils won that game 2-1 and will again look to take advantage of the league-worst Panthers. Florida is only 5-8-5 at home and 10-19-6 overall. Florida’s defense has been the main source of its trouble but they were able to get a win their last time out 5-4 over visiting Buffalo in a shootout. The Devils should be able to get back on the right track as long as playing the second game in back-to-back nights doesn’t leave them too fatigued. Confidence Meter: 4

8:00- LA Clippers: The Clippers are actually underdogs as they look to finish off their series sweep of the Rockets and beat Houston for the sixth time in a row. LA played last night and lost by two at San Antonio while Houston fell by nine at Memphis. Houston has dropped their last two and isn’t clear of the chase-pack as they sit seventh in the Western Conference. The Clippers have clinched their playoff spot, but are looking to get to 50 wins for the first time in franchise history. The Clippers are playing well, and have dominated the recent series so I think they get the win again even in Houston. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- 34 Points or More: This pick is subject to change base on gameflow, but I think Wichita State will struggle to contain Ohio State. Against Arizona, the Buckeyes scored 34 and 39 in the two halves and 38 and 40 against Iowa State. The Shockers gave up 36 in the second half against La Salle but was able to hold the Explorers to 22 in the first half. The Buckeyes offense has been solid so I’ll take the over. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

10:40- Chivas USA win: The Vancouver Whitecaps have won two of three to start the MLS season with their only loss coming 2-1 last week in Houston. Tonight they’ll head to LA to take on Chivas who is 2-1-1 in their first four and coming off a nice 4-1 win over the Chicago Fire last week. Chivas only loss came at the beginning of the season when they fell 3-0 at Columbus. Chivas has scored eight goals in their last three games and should be able to score enough to get the win at home. Confidence Meter: 4
