One of the Streak for the Cash picks of the day, the Louisville Cardinals under head coach Rick Pitino try to get back to the Final Four as they take on the Duke Blue Devils in the Elite Eight this afternoon. Happy Easter and last day of March! While all streaks are set to reset at midnight, there’s still time today to get a few more games piled on your streak. It looks like they’ll be some drama at the very top of the leaderboard as well with some 25 and 24 game streaks alive and the sta$h at 27 definitely in play.

Today’s schedule kicks off with another solid EPL soccer match followed by the ATP Miami Finals. This afternoon there are matchups from the the NHL and PGA along with both men’s and women’s college hoops tournament props and picks. Tonight we get our first MLB action on Streak as the Rangers and Astros meet in the MLB season opener. Here’s the picks I’m looking at today:

3/31 Streak Picks

8:30- Liverpool win: Liverpool had their three-match winning streak snapped in their last EPL match as they lost on the road to Southampton. Today they travel to Villa Park looking to avenge their 3-1 loss to Ason Villa December 15. Since then 7-2-4 in their 13 EPL matches since. Villa has gone the other way with a 3-3-7 record although they’ve gotten important wins in their last two matches. Liverpool will get their goalkeeper Jose Reina and defender Jamie Carragher back after they missed their Southampton loss, and I think Liverpool can get the win in this one even on the road. Aston Villa is rebuilding and still has a ways to go. Confidence Meter: 3

11:40- Any Other Result: After a pair of hard-fought semifinals, Andy Murray and David Ferrer meet in the finals at he ATP’s Miami event. This prop has Murray in straight sets against any other result. Ferrer has played Murray tough, although Murray does lead the historical series 6-5. Murray has won all four of their hard court meetings, but Ferrer has won at least a set in seven of their 11 meetings including each of their last three. Both players are playing well, so this should be another close one. I think Ferrer at least wins a set. Confidence Meter: 4

12:30- Detroit Red Wings: The Red Wings and Blackhawks meet in a rivalry games at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit in NBC’s feature game this afternoon. Detroit has been playing extremely well winning five of their last seven over some stuff competition even on the road. Now they come home to face Chicago who is just 5-5-0 after their incredible start to the season. The Blackhawks will be without forwards Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharpe while the Wings will look to get their first win in this always hotly-contended season series. Confidence Meter: 5

1:35- Any Other Golfer: Stewart Cink and Bill Haas are one-shot clear of a group of four golfers tied for third with 15 golfers within two shots. Cink and Haas have had solid weeks, but there have been low scores out there throughout the week with a -7 , -6, and -8 leading the scoring in each round. Since anyone in that top 15 that shoots that low will probably get the win, the percentages would favor any other instead of Cink/Haas. Confidence Meter: 4

2:20- Michigan Wolverines: The Wolverines and Gators tangle today with a trip to the Final Four and a matchup with Syracuse on the line. Florida is favored by three, but I think Michigan’s guards will be able to break the press like they did against VCU and hit big shots like they did against Kansas to get the Big 10 a representative in the Final Four. Florida has beaten who is in front of them but haven’t played any tough games so far defeating Northwestern State, Minnesota, and FGCU while the Wolverines have taken down South Dakota State, VCU, and Kansas. Florida still hasn’t won any game this entire year by less than ten points and have lost the last two years in the elite eight. I think the Wolverines run that streak to three and win by 5-10 points tonight in Arlington. Confidence Meter: 6

5:05- Louisville Cardinals: The Cardinals put their #1-overall seed to the test as they face off with Duke this afternoon in Indianapolis for the last of the Final Four entrees. The Cards are favored by four and have looked dominant to this point in the tournament. Duke has been rolling along as well beating Albany, Creighton, and Michigan State by double digits as they look to get back to the Final Four. This is a rematch of an early season matchup in the Bahamas where Duke beat then-#2 Louisville by five. Like that game Duke will need a huge game from Quinn Cook to beat Louisville  but I don’t see that happening as Rick Pitino and the Cards become the second Big East team in the Final Four. Confidence Meter: 7

6:00- LA Kings: The Kings take on the Dallas Stars in the American Airlines Center tonight in Dallas after a tough loss to Minnesota yesterday. Dallas beat the Wild Friday and have won three of their last four at home. The Stars have also claimed the first two meetings between these teams this season, although the Kings are still 10-1-2 in their last 13 games in Dallas. The Kings haven’t been great on the road and are playing on back-to-back nights, so I’ll take them with caution to beat Dallas. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- San Antonio Spurs: The Miami Heat streak is over and they head to San Antonio as 1 1/2 point underdogs as they face the Spurs. Miami has won 28 of their last 29 overall, but the Spurs have won 28 of their last 30 at home. The game does matter in the race for overall best record in the NBA, and I think the Spurs get the win at home. However, make sure to see what stars may be resting for either side before finalizing your pick. Confidence Meter: 5

8:10- Yes Strikeout in the Top 1st Inning: The top of the first inning of the new season will feature Bud Norris of the AL-newcomer Houston Astros against the top hitters in the Rangers lineup. Norris is a high strikeout pitcher and had 165 in 168.1 innings last year. Norris had a rough Spring Training but should be able to get a K against the free-swinging Rangers. Confidence Meter: 3

9:05- Yes 1+ HR in innings 4-6: The ballpark in Houston is small down the lines and there are plenty of sluggers on the Rangers to crush one. Bud Norris has struggled in Spring Training and the Astros staff is a mess. This is a coin-flip prop but not a bad way to end the month. Confidence Meter: 4
