As Louisville celebrates and Rick Pitino deliberates what tattoo to get and where, the Lady Cardinals go for a double-title tonight as they take on UConn. That’s one of the over 20 Streak for the Cash picks on the board today. It’s joined by plenty of soccer this afternoon and action from the NHL, MLB, and NBA tonight. Here’s the picks I’ll be watching on this Tuesday, April 9.

4/9 Streak Picks

12:30- Sonderjyske win or draw: Any time the draw is with the home team I lean that direction especially in the Danish Superliga. In this match Esbjerg travels to Sonderjyske. Sonderjyske has earned at least a draw in each of their last seven meetings and on the year Esbjerg has only won two of their 12 road games (2-5-5). Much like the early soccer game yesterday, the team at the bottom of the table needs a result and should be able to get at least a draw at home. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

2:45- Galatasaray win or draw: Again the home team gets the draw, but in this case its the second leg where the road team is already holding a 3-0 advantage in the aggregate. If the road team was anyone but Real Madrid, no one would take them to get the win, but they’ve got much bigger name recognition. Galatasaray doesn’t but is a solid team and since Real still moves on with a draw or one or two goal loss, I think Galatasaray will get a draw or even a one-goal win in this one. Confidence Meter: 3

2:47- Borussia Dortmund wins by 2+: German team Dortmund battled to a draw with Malaga who are from Spain in the first leg of this UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. The reason they’re heavy enough favorites to get a goal in this one is their huge home-field advantage. In domestic play they’re 9-2-3 at home and they’ve gone 4-0-0 in Champions League play with wins over Ajax, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Shakhtar Donetsk. To move on, Dortmund have to score and I think they can defeat Malaga by multiple goals. Confidence Meter: 5

Apr 3, 2013; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Dodgers starter Josh Beckett delivers a pitch against the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

6:40- LA Dodgers: The Dodgers look to Josh Beckett in their first road game as they face the Padres at the newly configured Petco Park. Beckett lost his first start to the Giants allowing three runs in six innings. He’ll be opposed today by Clayton Richard who took the loss in his first start as well getting pummeled for seven runs in 4 1/3 innings by the Mets. Both teams have struggled to score runs in the early going, but I think Adrian Gonzalez is in for a big series as he returns to San Diego and he and Beckett will propel the Dodgers to the win in game one. Confidence Meter: 6

7:05- San Jose Sharks: The Sharks look to avenge their earlier loss in Columbus as they take on the Blue Jackets tonight at Nationwide Arena. Both teams are coming off home losses as the Stars beat San Jose in a shootout and the Wild thumped Columbus 3-0. Prior to Sunday’s loss, San Jose had won seven in a row, but the Blue Jackets have dropped two in a row and are 3-4-1 in their last eight. The Blue Jackets won 6-2 back on Monday February 11 when the two teams met, but I think the Sharks momentum will carry them to the win and they’ll use that as motivation to help them get the win in this one. Confidence Meter: 4

7:05- New York Islanders.: The Flyers and Islanders are on opposite sides of the playoff line right now and both in unusual positions for them. The Isles are in the playoffs when they’re used to being out and the Flyers are out when they’re usually in. The Flyers have dominated this head-to-head but the Islanders have been playing better lately going 6-1-1 in their last eight and are at home in this one. Phily is only 5-13-1 on the road this season and I think the Isles can get the home win tonight in Uniondale. Confidence Meter: 3

8:05- St. Louis Blues: The Blues are rolling as they head to Nashville where the Predators are usually a strong home team but have been struggling lately. St. Louis has two of thre in this series so far this season and their last four in a row overall including a nice win Sunday at Detroit. While the Blues have been winning, the Preds season has been falling apart. Nashville has lost three in a row and six of seven. They’ve also lost three of their last four at home while St. Louis comes in 12-7-1 on the road. Confidence Meter: 6

8:05- Chicago Blackhawks: The Minnesota Wild hosts the Blackhawks tonight in their third and final meeting of the season. Minnesota won at home 3-2 in a shootout earlier this season while Chicago won 5-3 at the United Center. The Wild won Sunday over Columbus but hd lost three straight before that while being outscored 11-3. Minnesota will also have to overcome the absence of Dany Heatley who’s sidelined with a shoulder injury. Chicago is back to playing top-level hocket going 4-0-1 and have clinched their spot in the postseason although they’re still in the race for the top seed overall. They’re playing better than Minnesota right now, so I’ll take Chicago to ge the road win. Confidence Meter: 3

8:15- Cincinnati Reds: The Reds thumped St. Louis yesterday winning 13-4 and have won five of their last six after dropping their season opener. Today they’ll send Bronson Arroyo to the mound who looked sharp against the Angels getting the win allowing three runs in six innings. He’s had struggles in the past in St. Louis, but Lance Lynn, the opposing starter, struggled against the Reds last season in his only start and only lasted four innings in Arizona in his first start this season. I expect a high-scoring game overall, so I’ll take the team with the hot bats and go with Cincinnati. Confidence Meter : 5

8:35- Any Other Result: UConn is the prohibitive favorite, but Louisville continues to suprise all along their run to the final. The Huskies are 7-0 in championship games and beat the Cardinals by 14 when they hosted them earlier this season. On a neutral court with Louisville playing this well, I’ll take the points. Confidence Meter: 4

9:05- Oklahoma City Thunder: The Thunder are four-point favorites on the road as they take on the Jazz in what could be a playoff series preview if both teams win the race they’re in right now. The Thunder are trying to chase down the Spurs for the top spot in the West while the Jazz hope to hold onto the eighth spot in the playoffs as the Lakers try to catch them. The Jazz beat the Thunder once in Salt Lake City already this year, but I think the Thunder’s offensive firepower will ultimately be too much tonight as they  try to erase the memory of their loss on Sunday to the Knicks. Kevin Durant  is in the middle of a scoring title battle, and Russell Westbrook is also playing well. Since they’ll be the top two talents on the floor, I’ll take OKC to get the win in this one. Confidence Meter: 4 1/2

9:40- Pittsburgh Pirates: The Pirates were swept by the Dodgers as they stumbled into the desert to face the Snakes but were able to get a win yesterday despite losing starter Wandy Rodriguez to injury. Pittsburgh sends James McDonald to the mound tonight against Brandon McCarthy for Arizona. McCarthy was knocked around in his first start by the Cardinals while McDonald was a hard-luck loser to the Cubs. The Pirates offense always makes me hesitant to pick them, but I think they’ll get enough against McCarthy to get the green tonight. Confidence Meter: 4

10:10- Seattle Mariners: The Mariners send rookie Brandon Maurer to the mound against their former teammate Erik Bedard who now pitches for the Astros. Houston has dropped six in a row and is a mess offensively. Maurer was knocked around in his first start but is a pretty solid prospect. I think he’ll have a strong start and the new-look Mariners lineup will get enough against Bedard to close the day with green from the home team in the Pacific Northwest. Confidence Meter: 6
