Wednesday, April 10 is jam-packed with Streak for the Cash action from around the world. Things tip off in the Euroleague Quarterfinals in Moscow then continue this afternoon in the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals. Major League Baseball joins with a matinee at 3:45 and continues throughout the evening and is joined by the NHL and NBA as well as some CONCACAF Champions League soccer. There’s some intriguing matchups on the board, and as yesterday’s surprises reminded us, anything can happen. Here’s the picks I’ll be watching today:

Streak Picks 4/10

12:00- CSKA Moscow wins by Double Digits: This is the first of a best-of-5 series in the Euroleague basketball finals. This one’s in Moscow where CSKA is favored by 10.5 over Caja Laboral. Moscow is the better team and have been playing well especially at home, but Laboral have won four of their last five in Euroleague competition. With the number basically right on the spread, it’s pretty much a toss-up, but I’ll go with the favored team at home. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2 (out of 10)

2:45- PSG Win, Draw or Lose by 1: This is the second leg of the UEFA Quarterfinals as Barcelona hosts Paris Saint-Germain. Barca earned a road tie in Paris in the first leg 2-2 and all they need to do is draw 0-0, 1-1, or win to move on. With a draw being good enough for Barcelona to advance and Messi’s health in question, I think PSG at least keeps this within a goal. Confidence Meter: 3

2:47- Juventus win or Draw: Jueventus hosts Bayern in the other quarterfinal today after Bayern took a 2-0 victory in the first leg. Juventus is a solid home team and Munich only needs to draw or even lose by one to advance, so Juve is actually a pretty solid pick here. Bayern Munich is the better team but will be focused on advancing regardless of the final outcome of this match. Confidence Meter: 6

3:45- San Francisco Giants: After a come-from-behind win late last night, the Giants look to Barry Zito to finish the sweep of the Rockies. Colorado has lost its last eight games at AT&T Park and Zito has dominated them over his whole career. Zito makes a great spot starter pickup (more info here) after his dominating first start of the season. He’ll be opposed by Jeff Francis who also won his first start but has some ugly career numbers against the Giants big hitters. Look for the Giants to keep rolling in this one. It’s hard to be too confident with early-season baseball, but all indicators point to San Francisco and I think this is the best pick of the day. Confidence Meter: 7

7:05- Cleveland Cavaliers: The bottom two teams in the Central Division face off at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland where the Cavs are one-point favorites. Detroit is just 5-19 since the All-Star break but did get a win their last time out over the Bulls at The Palace. The Cavs are playing on back-to-back nights after a tough loss after being up big in Indiana over the Pacers. At home, I think Kyrie Irving will lead his team in a bounce-back night as they finish the job and beat Detroit for the first time in their last six tries. Confidence Meter: 4

7:05- Atlanta Hawks: The Hawks head to Phily where they’ve lost their last four games and have dropped seven of eight overall to the Sixers. However, Philadelphia was horrible last night in their loss to the Nets and look to be done. Despite being in the playoffs, the Hawks have lost three in a row as well, but Coach Larry Drew has said he’s playing all his starters and wants to get this W after playing so poorly their last time at the Wells Fargo Center. Look for Horford to dominate and the Hawks to win. Confidence Meter: 5

7:35- Boston Bruins: The Devils host the Bruins as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. They’ve dropped seven in a row (0-3-4) and two games to Boston already this season. The Bruins looked great in their 6-2 win on Monday, but it was only over Carolina. It was their fourth win in their last five games and their defense has been playing superbly. Boston has struggled to score on the road at times but has been able to beat Martin Brodeur in each of their last eight matchups scoring over three goals a game on him. Confidence Meter: 7

8:10- Boston Celtics: The Celtics real starters are all back after injuries have caused Coach Doc Rivers to use all kinds or rotations. Tonight Boston hosts the Nets who are coming in on the second night of a back-t0-back after beating the Sixers last night. Avery Bradley should get the job of guarding Deron Williams in what should be a fun matchup to watch. There’s some history between these teams after a Christmas Day scuffle in a game Boston won in Brooklyn. Both teams are headed to the playoffs, but seeding is still to be decided and this is a rivalry game so expect it to be played with plenty of intensity. At home, the Celtics are favored by four. Confidence Meter: 6

9:35- Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers host the Phoenix Coyotes at Rexall Place in a meeting of playoff hopefuls. Edmonton is coming off a tough road trip where they lost some key games but now return home to where they’re 8-5-4. Phoenix has struggled on the road witha  4-9-5 mark but have played well in Edmonton recently (5-0-1 in their last six) and have been able to get a point in their last six games (4-0-2). Still, I’m taking the Oilers since they’re on their home ice and they’ve won both meetings with the Coyotes this season. Confidence Meter: 3

10:05- Oakland Athletics: The Angels are struggling out of the gate as new acquisition Josh Hamilton follows the Albert Pujols guide for joining the Angels. LA is 2-5 right now and send Joe Blanton to the mound tonight after he got hammered last time out by the Reds. The A’s counter with Tommy Milone who got a win over Seattle his first time out while allowing just two runs in seven innings. If the Angels are forced to go to their bullpen early, the matchup doesn’t get any better as the A’s battled back last night with five runs in the seventh against LA’s pen to get the win. I think Oakland has the pitching advantage and the Angels bats haven’t woken up yet, so I’ll go A’s to get the road win again. Confidence Meter: 4

10:10- LA Dodgers: LA handed out tons of reds by losing to San Diego last night, but should be able to pay us back with greens tonight. There’s one unknown in that equation though, Chad Billingsley is making his first start of the year after a solid season last year was cut short by injury. It isn’t the same injury he’s coming back from tonight, and I think he’ll be able to give the Dodgers a solid start tonight in Petco. The Dodgers lineup will have to support him as they face Eric Stults who pitched five shutout innings to get a win in his first start. Stults actually made his debut as a Dodger and will try to get the Padres just their third win of the season tonight. I think LA is the better pick, but I’m not as confident after getting burned last night. Confidence Meter: 6

10:40- Denver Nuggets: The Nuggets host San Antonio in a matchup of ailing playoff teams whose stars are hurt and/or resting for the playoffs. The Nuggets have the depth to compensate for those losses though and are an amazing 35-3 at home. If the Spurs were full-strength, it would be hard not to pick them, but Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are both banged up and they’ve lost three of their last five. Denver has won four in a row, and since they’re at home I think they’ll make it five. Confidence Meter: 5
