Streak for the Cash Picks, April 26 Previews and Analysis

In one of the Streak for the Cash picks from the NBA Playoffs the Denver Nuggets and Ty Lawson (3) will try to get home court back from Golden State. Will the Warriors have a full strength Stephen Curry (30)? That’s one of the big questions in today’s Streak for the Cash Picks. Mandatory Credit: Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

It’s already the final Friday of April, but there are plenty of picks to get a streak going by the end of the month. Today’s board starts once again in the Bayou as the PGA Tour’s trip to TPC Louisiana continues. There’s also some solid international soccer options and a Lacrosse pick to round out the afternoon. Tonight there’s the usual April mix of NBA Playoffs and MLB options. There also may be some draft props added, so stay tuned for any additional picks which I’ll do my best to get to you on twitter @FantasyCPR

Here’s the picks I’m watching today:

Streak Picks-4/26

Sep 27, 2012; Medinah, IL, USA; Justin Rose hits a tee shot on the 18th tee during practice for the 39th Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

8:40- Justin Rose or Tie: This is a nine-hole prop in which Justin Rose gets the tie as he gets matched with Keegan Bradley. Rose shot a -4 overall yesterday and a -1 on the back nine. Bradley was straight pars on these holes and -3 overall. Both are solid golfers and playing well, but I don’t see enough of a difference to concede the tie so I’ll take Rose for the green. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

12:30- Esbjerg win or draw: Esbjerg is 9-7-11 in SAS-Legaen play as they take on Silkeborg who is at the very bottom of the table at 8-4-16. Esbjerg won their previous match 1-0 at home and should be able to get at least a draw on the road in this one. Confidence Meter: 5

1:30- Nick Watney or tie: In this 18-hole matchup, Jason Dufner gives the tie to Nick Watney in the second round at the Zurich Classic. Dufner shot a -2 in round one while Watney finished with a -3. Both are past champions here, and both look poised to make a run at the leaderboard agains this week. Expecting a good round out of both of them, I’ll take the tie and go with Watney. Confidence Meter: 3

3:00- Osasuna win or draw: Rayo is 14-3-15 as they host Osasuna in the Spanish Primera Division. Osasuna is just 8-8-16 overall this season and has lost two of their last three matches overall and two of their last three road games. However, Rayo has only won one of their last five matches and will be without striker Leo Baptistao who broke his collarbone in their previous game. Osasuna is coming off a nice draw against Real Sociedad and beat Real Valladolid recently on the road. I’m just not confident enough in Rayo to give the draw. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2

5:03- Maryland wins by 3+ goals: Maryland and Virginia face off in the Semifinals of the ACC Men’s Lacrosse tournament. Maryland is favored by 3 1/2 and won by two at Virginia earlier this season. This match will take place on a neutral field at Chapel Hill so I think MD gets the win by three or more. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

Apr 15, 2013; Miami, FL, USA; Washington Nationals starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann throws in the sixth inning during a game against the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park. The Nationals won 10-3. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

7:05- Washington Nationals: Jordan Zimmermann got off to a great start for the Nats this season but took the loss his last time out against the Mets. He’ll take the mound tonight against the Reds. Cincinnati’s offense has ben struggling, and Zimmermann is typically good at home and good against Cincinnati, so I’ll take Washington to win at home for the second day in a row. Confidence Meter: 5

7:08- Atlanta Braves: In what many think could be a World Series preview, the Tigers and Braves face off tonight in the opener of their three game set at Comerica Park. Both starting pitchers come in with ERA’s under two as Anibal Sanchez goes for the Tigers against Paul Maholm of the Braves. Maholm had thrown 25 1/3 scoreless innings before a three-run inning against the Pirates cost him a win his last time out. He could get back on track quickly against the struggling Tigers who have won just one of their last six games and have been struggling offensively. The Braves lost their game but had taken the first two against Colorado and seemed poised for the sweep before a stumble from their usually reliable closer Craig Kimbrel. The Braves are playing better now, and with Maholm on the mound I think they’ll get the series opener. Confidence Meter: 4

7:10- Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies have lost three in a row as they head to Citi Field and turn to Kyle Kendrick to get things turned around. The problems for Phily have been at the plate and in the bullpen as their starters including Kendrick have actually been pretty good early in the season. Tonight they’ll face Dillon Gee who comes in 1-3 with a 5.95 ERA. Gee doesn’t have good career numbers against the Phillies coming in 2-2 with a 7.03 ERA. The Mets have had their share of late-inning heroics, but I think the Phillies will be able to hold them off in this one. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

Apr 25, 2013; Chicago, IL, USA; Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko (14) hits an RBI single against the Tampa Bay Rays during the first inning at U.S. Cellular Field. Mandatory Credit: Rob Grabowski-USA TODAY Sports

8:10- Chicago White Sox: The White Sox have won two in a row as they host the Rays who have struggled away from the Trop to a 2-8 road record. Tonight, the Sox will send Jake Peavy to the mound who is 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA in his two home starts this season. He’ll be opposed by Roberto Hernandez who has started the year 1-3 with a 4.74 ERA. He has a long history against Chicago from back in his Fausto Carmona days when he was 9-2 despite a not-so-great 4.85 ERA in his last 12 starts against the White Sox. He particluarly has struggled with Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko which could mean big nights for the sluggers and a win for Peavy as the White Sox get the green. Confidence Meter: 7

8:10- Texas Rangers: The Twins are a respectable .500 through the first 18 games of the season as they host the Rangers tonight at Target Field. Texas edged Minnesota 2-1 last night and tonight turn to Justin Grimm looking for their sixth win in their last eight games. The Twins have lost their last two and look to lefty Scott Diamond to slow down the powerful Rangers offense tonight. Ultimately, the Texas lineup is producing nicely and Grimm has looked goos so far in the Majors, so I feel pretty comfortable taking Texas. The only reason they’re a tick behind Chicago is that they’re on the road while the ChiSox are at home at the Cell. Confidence Meter: 6

9:40- Colorado Rockies: The Rox are in Arizona in this NL West showdown. They’ll send Juan Nicasio to the mound tonight hoping for a more efficient outing from the starter who hasn’t gone deep into games but does have a 2-0 record despite his 5.31 ERA. His opposing starter tonight, Brandon McCarthy has had a rough start to the season and got a no-decision against the Rockies last week allowing four runs in six innings bringing his ERA to 7.06. These two teams always play tough, hard-fought, viewer-friendly baseball games, and I expect nothing less from them tonight. Ultimately, I think Colorado gets this one, but it could really go either way. Confidence Meter: 3

10:35- Denver Nuggets: The Warriors come home after getting home court advantage from Denver with a huge game 2 win, but they may have to take the floor tonight without their two best players. David Lee is out for sure after suffering an injury in game 1, but the status of Stephen Curry is also up in the air after his ankle swelled after Tuesday’s win. Even if he plays, Curry may not be effective and without D-Lee the Warrios need him to be at the top of his game. I still think this is a long series, but that Denver gets the win in Oakland tonight. Confidence Meter: 5

10:45- San Antonio Spurs: The Spurs are 5 1/2 point road favorites as they head to the Staples Center looking to go up 3-0 on LA. They’ve won both the first two games in the series by double-digits and the Lakers are piling up injuries and discontent rather than momentum so I think the Spurs cruise to the win again. The problems for LA aren’t in the frontcourt with Gasol/Howard, but their rapidly running out of guards to slow down Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Confidence Meter: 6
