It’s a huge Saturday in ESPN’s Streak For the Cash with 10 MLB picks, 7 NHL picks, 5 soccer matches from MLS and abroad, a PGA pro, three UFC 159 props, and  four NBA playoff games (with 2 bonus props). There are plenty of ways to get your streak going by the end of the month, and these are the games I’ll be focused on this Saturday:

Streak Picks 4/27

12:30- Newcastle United win or draw: Newcastle comes into today’s match 10-7-17 overall in EPL play but a strong 9-1-7 at home. Today they’ll host Liverpool who will be without Luiz Suarez, and even with him the Reds won only five of 17 EPL road games. Newcastle’s crowd is sure to be into this one as the team hovers just above the relegation zone. I think the home squad will get at least a draw. They’ve gone 4-1-1 in their last six home games with wins over Chelsea, Southampton, and Fulham. Confidence Meter: 5

1:05-Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies have won four in a row at Citi Field and are getting great production in the last few games from Michael Young and Ryan Howard. Today, they’ll face Shaun Marcum in his first Mets’ start after starting the season on the DL. The Phillies will send rookie Jonathan Pettibone to the mound after an impressive MLB debut against Pittsburgh. Confidence Meter: 4

1:05- Atlanta Braves: Kris Medlen has been solid this season (1=2, 2.16 ERA) while Rick Porcello hasn’t (0-2, 11.08 ERA) The two face off in Detroit today and I think the Braves bounce back from their tough night last night against a dominant Anibal Sanchez. The Atlanta lineup is a free-swinging bunch as they showed yesterday, but when they connect they hit it a long way as I think you’ll see today. Confidence Meter: 6

1:45- Lucas Glover or Tie: Former US Open champion Lucas Glover has a one-stroke lead over Boo Weekley as he comes into the weekend -12. He faces Weekley in this 18-hole matchup and gets the tie. Yesterday Glover shot a -5 to follow his -7 from Thursday. Weekley was also -7 Thursday and followed that with a -4 Friday. This is a tough one since neither had much consistent form prior to this event. However, with Glover coming off a better round and getting the tie, I think he’s a solid pick. Confidence Meter: 5

2:00- Real Madrid win: Real will be without Ronaldo for this Madrid derby but did beat Athletico Madred 2-0 earlier this season. Real Madrid has won nine of their last ten league games despite a tough road loss in UCL play earlier this week. They currently sit second and third in the Spanish Primera division so this should be a good game, but I think Real pulls it out. Confidence Meter: 3

2:10- Brooklyn Nets: The Nets face the Bulls looking to even the series at two games apiece. I don’t think the Bulls can shut down Deron Williams again like they did last game, and I think this sereis is likely going the full seven. I think the Nets level it this afternoon in another tough, defensive struggle. Confidence Meter: 4

4:10- Texas Rangers: The Rangers have take the first two games in this four-game set in Minneapolis and will look to Derek Holland to continue to keep the Twins bats in check. Texas has won 11 of the last 13 meetings between the teams and will face Pedro Hernandez who gets his second start off the season as he moves back in from the bullpen. Holland hasn’t been in the bullpen, but he was hammered his last time out by the Angels. I think the “Dutch Oven” gets the job down today and the Rangers bats continue to produce  as they get another win. Confidence Meter: 6

4:40- Memphis Grizzlies: In another NBA series that appears to go all the way to seven games, the Grizzlies can even their series if they can knock of the Clippers again at the FedEx Forum. Memphis was an excellent home team all season and is favored by 3 1/2 today. Chris Paul could definitely carry his team to the win, but I think Memphis sends it back to LA all tied up even though I expect Paul and the Clippers to ultimately move on. Confidence Meter: 5

7:00-  Detroit Red Wings: The Wings are not in the playoffs yet, but can clinch another Western Conference postseason berth with a point on the road in Dallas in their final game of the regular season. The Wings have won three in a row while Dallas has dropped four straight and are eliminated from the playoff picture. The teams split a pair of games in January, but I think Detroit goes on the road and books their ticket to the postseason for the 22nd year in a row. Confidence Meter: 6

7:05- Indiana Pacers: The Pacers have dominated this series while the Hawks have looked thoroughly overmatched. Atlanta returns home, but I think the Pacers still get the win as their defense continues to tighten the screws on a Hawks offense that struggles when pressured. Atlanta is favored by 2 1/2, but I don’t think they’ll beat the Pacers even in Philips Arena. Confidence Meter: 4

7:10- Tampa Bay Rays: Another solid pick at 7:00 is the Rays who send Matt Moore (4-0, 1.04 ERA) against Gavin Floyd and the White Sox (0-3, 4.98 ERA). The White Sox have taken the first two games in the series, but Moore gives the Rays the advantage today. Tampa’s lineup has been iffy on the road, but Floyd has been struggling so far this year giving up runs while still picking up strikeouts. Moore is the better starter and as long as Tampa’s offense scores him runs he should get the green. Confidence Meter: 5

8:40- San Francisco Giants: The Giants send Barry Zito to the mound again tonight as they look to avoid their fifth straight road loss after losing 2-1 in the series opener. Zito has been excellent at home this season but struggled on the road. He did shut out the Padres for seven innings in his last start when he was opposed, as he will be again tonight, by Eric Stults. Stults took this loss dropping to 2-2 on the season. Zito looks to be the stopper and I think he’ll get the Giants back on the right track as they look to get the win in San Diego. Confidence Meter: 4

9:30- Houston Rockets: The Rockets host the Thunder who start their playoff life without Russell Westbrook after losing the star point guard to a torn meniscus. If the Rockets and “the Beard” are going to win a game in this series this would seem to be their best shot. Houston has been good at home and almost stole the win in game two. Without Westbrook, the Thunder should still be able to win this series, but they may struggle to get their new roles figured out opening the door for Houston to steal this one. Confidence Meter: 3

10:30- LA Kings: The Sharks have won four of five from LA, but their wins this season have come at home and they’ll be on the road at Staples Center tonight. Both teams are in the playoffs, but seeding could still be at stake. Either way, I’ll take the Kings to get the win at home where they’re 18-4-1 over the Sharks who are just 8-13-2 on the road this season. Homeice means a lot to both these teams, so I’ll take the home team. Confidence Meter: 5

12:05- Jon Jones wins before start of the 3rd Round: Jones is a beast.Chael Sonnen is mouthy but is also a long shot to knock off the champ. Confidence Meter: 3
