With just two days left in the month, it’s time to set your goals for Streak for the Cash whether that’s total wins or putting together your last run at whatever number you’re chasing. I’m on a four-game green streak and I’m going to try to get to eight which would match my high from earlier this month. Monday gives us some good opportunities to reach our goals with early soccer from Portugal, England, and Russia followed by baseball and the NBA Playoffs tonight. The NHL Playoffs don’t get underway until tomorrow so we’re hockey-free for today’s Streak Picks. These are the options I like the most:

Streak Picks-4/29

10:30- Alania Vladikavkaz win or draw: Take the home team getting the draw in this one as Alania (3-7-15) host Krasnodar (6-7-13). Krasnodar is just 1-4-7 on the road though and Alania is 3-3-7 at home and sits in the relegation zone despite getting at least a draw in two of their three latest RPL matches. I just can’t Krasnodar on the road enough to give the draw to a team in such desperate need of points. Confidence Meter: (out of 10) I’d stay away unless you’re in the red or just going for most wins.

3:00- Sunderland win or draw: As the EPL season winds down, Sunderland and Aston Villa are both above the relegation zone but only just. Sunderland is 9-10-15 on the season while Villa is 8-10-16. In their last two matches, Sunderland has picked up much needed wins over Newcastle and Everton after playing well against both Chelsea and Man United in gouth losses. Aston Villa did get a win at Sunderland 1-0 early in the EPL season but has struggled lately winning just one of their last four. Both teams need the win, but Sunderland’s recent results  and getting the draw makes them the better option. Confidence Meter: 4

7:07- Atlanta BravesEarlier this season the Braves rolled over the Nats in Washington, but come into this one having lost four in a row including getting beat soundly for three straight games in Detroit. Washington lost on Sunday too but were able to take three of four from the Reds. Atlanta comes home after their rough trip to face Washington who they’ve beaten in each of their last seven meetings. Atlanta is 6-2 at home and already beat Stephen Strasburg once this season. Strasburg gets the start Monday and is 1-4 with a 3.16 ERA. He’ll be opposed by Julio Teheran who is coming off his best start of the season in which he allowed just one run in seven innings to the Rockies in Colorado. Washington has struggled on the road and Atlanta will be looking to reassert itself and prevent losing its fifth in a row. I think Teheran and Strasburg should both have good games, but in the end  the Braves will hit a could home runs and pull away late. Confidence Meter: 5

7:10- Bulls 3-Pointers Made: The Nets are 5 1/2 point favorites as they return home to face the Bulls and a 3-1 series deficit. Chicago won the last game in Brooklyn and has been impressive over the last three games. Brooklyn may be able to pull out the win, but if they do I think its a very close one. That means the better pick is the three-pointers of the Bulls to cover the Nets winning Margin. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Nets lost this game and the Bulls move on to a much-anticipated showdown with Miami. As a straight-up pick, I’m not sure which way I’d go so that usually means its wise to take the points. Confidence Meter: 6

7:35- Indiana Pacers: Even with the egg they laid in game three, I think the Pacers are are the better team and will take control of this series back with a win in Atlanta. The Hawks are 1 1/2 point favorites, but there’s no way Indiana plays that horribly two games in a row. Paul George and Roy Hibbert will be better and they should be able to avoid turnovers better which should get them enough to get the W. Confidence Meter: 4

8:10- Kansas City Royals: The Royals took the first two in this series before losing the nightcap or their double-header last night to the Indians. Tonight they’ll send Wade Davis to the mound who is 2-1 with a 3.20 ERA against embattled Indians starter Ubaldo Jimenez who is 0-2 with a 10.06 ERA. Davis is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in two starts agains the Tribe while Jimenez is 2-2 with a 4.43 ERA in his four starts against the Royals. Davis was roughed up his last time out by Detroit but has been good at home, so I think the Royals get the win tonight. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- Pittsburgh Pirates: The Pirates are atop the NL Central as they send Wandy Rodriguez to the mound to take on the Brewers at Miller Park. Rodriguez will be opposed by Yovani Gallardo who has won his last two starts and has a great history against Pittsburgh. The Pirates have lost their last four in Milwaukee but the Brewers finished their road trip Sunday by losing for the third time in their last four games. Pittsburgh is 5-2 on their current road trip and have gone 14-5 after a 1-5 start. The Pirates are riding positive momentum right now while the Brewers have struggled lately. I’ll go with momentum and take Wandy and the Pirates. Confidence Meter: 4

9:40- Arizona Diamondbacks: The D-Backs host the Giants in a big NL West showdown and both teams send their aces to the mound in game one. Matt Cain will look to snap the Giants five-game losing streak and get his first win of the season after getting a ND against Arizona in his last start as his ERA came down to 6.59. He’ll be opposed by Arizona’s Ian Kennedy who is 5-0 with a 2.14 ERA in his last nine starts against the Giants. He also got a ND his last time out allowing just one run in six innings against San Francisco. The Diamondbacks have the homefield advantage and come in with more momentum as they’ve won four of their last five while the Giants have lost five in a row. Confidence Meter: 5

9:45- Houston Rockets: The Rockets  have made a game of their last two contest with Oklahoma City and look to get over the hump and get their first playoff win tonight a the Toyota Center. The last two games they’ve lost by three points each and they may be without point guard Jeremy Lin as they take on the Thunder tonight. I think they’ll get a win though as the Thunder continue to adjust to life without their starting point guard All-Star Russell Westbrook. The Thunder are two-point favorites, but I think Houston gets the win at home behind a big night from James Harden. Confidence Meter: 4

10:10- Baltimore Orioles: The Orioles have won their last eight games against the Mariners as they head to Seattle having won three of four in Oakland over the weekend. Baltimore will give the ball to Zach Britton for the first time this season after he was recalled from Triple-A where he was 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA. He’ll go up against Joe Saunders who is 1-3 with a 6.33 ERA and has been crushed his last two times out allowing 15 runs and 20 hits in 9 2/3 innings. He pitched for Baltimore during their postseason run last season and has a 5-0 career record against them despite a 4.73 ERA. Baltimore’s lineup has been producing much better than Seattle’s, and I think Britton will have a better start than Saunders. I’m pretty confidenc in Baltimore even though they’re on the road in this one. Confidence Meter: 6

10:10- LA Dodgers: LA sends Ted Lilly to the hill for the second time this season as they open their three-game series against the Rockies at Dodger Stadium. Colorado is expected to turn to Tyler Chatwood who struggled in his first start of the year giving up five runs in six innings to Atlanta. Lilly was solid against the Mets his first time out although he got a no decision after allowing one run in five innings. Lilly should be happy to see Colorado since he’s 6-0 with a 2.86 ERA in his last seven starts against the Rox. Colorado also comes in having lost six of their last eight while the Dodgers have won three of their last four. Confidence Meter: 5

Apr 27, 2013; Houston, TX, USA; Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden (13) dunks the ball over Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant (35) in the first quarter during game three in the first round of the 2013 NBA playoffs at the Toyota Center. 11:05- No Either Team doesn’t score 50+: At first glance my tendency would be yes, but so far in this series both teams haven’t scored 50+ in any of the three games. Either team could easily go under, so I think it’s most likely that one of them will. Either team could letdown if its a route, but I think its more likely that Houston ratchets down the defense to try to stay alive. Remember it’s also possible that either or both teams will be without their starting point guards.  Confidence Meter: 4
