As we come to the end of Streak for the Cash for May, each entry page gets a big of a facelift with the all-time record now right on top of your page. The picks themselves are a little light once again on Wednesday with the French Open getting things underway early, some international soccer friendlies, and a full night of MLB picks. The marquee game of the evening is another NHL Playoffs game seven as the Red Wings and Blackhawks meet for a chance to face the defending champion LA Kings in Western Conference Finals. Here’s the picks I’m watching today:

5/29 Streak Picks

9:00- Ernests Gulbis: Gael Monfils pulled the big upset over fifth-ranked Tomas Berdych in the first round and now takes on Gulbis. Both players are inconsistent but have shown good form lately. Monfils is a little banged up and is the underdog coming into the match. Most streakers are going with the bigger name, but Gulbis has been playing well on this surface and has a solid history at the French. I think he’ll get the win and earn the green at Roland Garros in the morning. Confidence Meter: 4

2:30- Ecuador win/draw: The Germans take on Ecuador but will be shorthanded after many of their national players played in the Champions League all-German final. Both squads are good teams but won’t have all their players. It’s an international friendly, so the “stay away from exhibitions” rule is in full effect. The game is in Florida, so there’s no real homefield advantage. Confidence Meter:

7:05- Washington Nationals: The Nats have Jordan Zimmermann on the mound looking to win his ninth game of the season. He’ll be opposed by Chris Tillman as the series shifts to Baltimore after the two teams split a pair in DC. The Nats are pretty banged up, but with Zimmermann on the mound I think they’ll take the game today. Confidence Meter: 5

7:05- Detroit Tigers: Detroit and Pittsburgh played ten scoreless innings last night in Detroit and now head to Pittsburgh after splitting a pair of one-run games in Motown. Detroit has Anibal Sanchez on the mound who has been excellent this season and was especially sharp in his last start, a one-hitter against the Twins. Pittsburgh will send A.J. Burnett to the mound who has had a hard-luck run of starts pitching seven innings in his last five in a row never allowing more than three runs but is 0-3 in hi last three decisions since he keeps getting out-dueled. If Sanchez is on his game, the trend could continue tonight at PNC Park. Confidence Meter: 4

8:00- United States win or Draw: The US and Belgium meet in Cleveland in another international friendly, but since the US is at home I think they should at least get a draw. Again though, it’s tough to put too much stock in exhibition games. Confidence Meter: 3

8:10- Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks are at home for game seven and Detroit has already had two chances to put them away. I don’t think the third time will be the charm for the young Wings. Chicago seems to have figured out a way to beat the Detroit D, and as long as Jimmy Howard doesn’t have an insane game Chicago should move on to host LA in the Western Conference Finals. Confidence Meter: 7

9:07- Chicago Blackhawks: Since I think the Blackhawks will score more overall, I think they’re more likely to score first in the 2nd period. Confidence Meter: 3

10:15- Oakland Athletics: The A’s cross the bridge to take on the Giants after taking the first two in this matchup at O.co Coliseum. The Giants turn to Tim Lincecum as their stopper, but he again has struggled this year allowing 10 runs in 12 innings in his last two starts. He’s allowed four runs or more in four of his last five outings and his ERA is up to 4.75. The A’s look to win their sixth in a row as they counter with Tommy Milone who has had an up-and-down year as well. The A’s haven’t been up-and-down lately though winning 10 of their last 11. Confidence Meter: 5
