Monday’s time for our weekly weekly double-up as two-start pitchers take the mound for their teams in the nine games on the Major League Baseball schedule. Pitchers who you grab for Monday will get a second start later in the week making them ultra-valuable in weekly format options. If you are playing in a daily league, these pitchers represent good value plays and can help you win without taking up all your salary cap space.
I’m running short on time for today, so I’ll give you my picks but will need to keep the analysis extremely brief. Here are my recommended options available in over 50% of ESPN leagues for Monday:
Kyle Kendrick-Philadelphia Phillies: (34.5%) Kendrick starts at home against Miami. Kendrick had four quality starts in May in six appearances. He started May with a win against Miami.
Tyler Chatwood-Colorado Rockies: (15.3%) In five starts Chatwood is 3-0 with a 2.12 ERA. He hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last four starts. He’s in a tough matchup though as the Rockies travel to Cincinnati.
Eric Stults-San Diego Padres: (1.8%) The Padres visit LA as Stults looks to build on a solid May when he was 2-2 with a 2.55 ERA in his six starts. He faced the Dodgers twice this season going 1-1 in two starts early in the year.
Joe Saunders-Seattle Mariners:(0.6%) Saunders is up-and-down and all over the place in his starts making him a long shot since he completely lacks consistency. However, he’s in a good matchup as the M’s host the White Sox in Seattle.
Here is how my picks have done lately:
