Streak for the Cash Picks, June 7 Analysis and Previews

In tonight’s Streak for the Cash picks, the Boston Bruins and Andrew Ference (21) try to finish off the  Pittsburgh Penguins and left wing Brenden Morrow (10). Find my picks for that game and many others below. Mandatory Credit: Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Friday’s a great start to the weekend for Streak for the Cash players who get chances all day long to grab some green. Things start in tennis at the French Open with the Men’s Semifinals. Later, there are picks from World Cup Qualifying, the PGA St. Jude Classic, and afternoon baseball at Wrigley Field. Tonight there are options from college and pro baseball along with a couple NCAA Track and Field props, the NHL Eastern Conference Finals, and some more soccer.

Due to some site issues, our Streak for the Cash picks were late getting posted. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can use these ideas to build your streak today:

6/7 Streak Picks

7:14- Rafael Nadal: I tweeted out that this was my pick this morning. Whether you made it for the green or not, it was a great match to watch as two of the top in the world met in what most think was the de facto final. Confidence Meter: 3 ½ (out of 10)

Jun 4, 2013; Paris, France; Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) celebrates after his match against Roger Federer (SUI) on day 10 of the 2013 French Open at Roland Garros. Mandatory Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

10:20- Jo-Wilifried Tsonga: The Spaniard David Ferrer leads the head-to-head series 3-1 including a meeting on clay in Rome although that was back in 2010. Tsonga and Ferrer both come in steam-rolling opponents enither having dropped a set yet this tournament. I’ll take Tsonga since he’s at home and will have the crowd behind him and coming off such a convincing win over Roger Federer. It would be great to have a Frenchman in the finals. Confidence Meter: 3

11:30- Libya Win: In this CAF qualifying match, Congo DR is -120 favorites when getting the draw. The two sides played to a draw in March 0-0 in the Congo, but this game is in Libya and will be the first qualifying match played in the country after FIFA lifted a two-year suspension of Libyan stadiums. It should be an absolutely huge home field advantage, so I think Libya can pull out the win. Confidence Meter: 4

1:36- David Toms or Tie: Toms shot a 67 in round 1 and has a long history of playing well in Memphis. He gets the tie as he faces Ian Poulter in this 18-hole prop. Poulter finished with three birdies in the last four holes to get to -1 at 69. Toms had a better round one, has a solid hitosry here, and gets the tie. Confidence Meter: 5

2:20- Pittsburgh Pirates: The Pirates and Cubs play in the only afternoon baseball on the schedule today. Francisco Liriano has been excellent for the Pirates since returning from his arm injury and comes in 3-2 with a 2.17 ERA. Travis Wood has been great for the Cubs too with a 5-3 record and a 2.75 ERA. I think this games comes down to the bullpens which gives Pittsburgh a huge advantage since they have one of the best in baseball while Chicago’s has been extremely volatile all season. Confidence Meter: 4

2:45- Italy win: The Italians are 4-1-0 in qualifying  as they face the Czech Republic who are 2-2-1 in group play.  The Azzurri  look to stay on track and are expected to be back to full strength for this one. Confidence Meter: 6

6:05-Argentina Win: Argentina simply doesn’t lose at home and they won 2-1 at Colombia earlier in qualifying.  A lot does depend on Messi’s status, but I think Argentina gest the win either way. Both these teams are solid, though, and it should be as good a game there is anywhere in the world today. Confidence Meter: 5

Jun 2, 2013; Baton Rouge, LA, USA; LSU Tigers infielder ChristianIbarra (14) and teammates high five with fans in the outfield as they celebrate defeating the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns 5-1 to advance to the Super Regionals during the Baton Rouge regional of the 2013 NCAA baseball tournament at Alex Box Stadium. 7:05- LSU Wins by 2 Runs or More: In this Super Regional, don’t just follow the seeds since OU will most likely start Jonathan Gray who was picked third overall in the MLB Draft last night.  If both pitchers are on their game, this will be low-scoring making giving a run that much more difficult. However, at home the Tigers are solid enough to cover especially with Gray possibly distracted by being drafted.  Confidence Meter: 4

7:05- CSF wins by 2+: I’m actually more comfortable taking Fullerton than LSU since they don’t have to deal with Gray. CSF has two of the best pitchers in baseball with Justin Garza and Thomas Eshelman dominant in their freshman year. UCLS counters with Adam Plutko who has dominated in the postseason during his college career(5-0 with a 0.97 ERA). However, I’ll take the Titans at home since UCLA has struggled offensively and CSF beat them 9-6 at UCLA and 5-2 at home. Confidence Meter: 5

7:06-3 Hits or Fewer: Both starting pitchers are excellent in the OU, LSU game so if your streak needs a jump start this is a quick prop worth taking. Confidence Meter: 4

7:07-Texas Rangers: The Rangers take on Toronto as they go up against Esmil Rogers and the Blue Jays who are 14-16 at home and trying to fill-in the injury issues in their rotation. Rogers has only made one other start this season and went only 3 1/3 in that one. The Rangers give the ball to Nick Tepesch who has allowed just five earned runs in his last four starts but hasn’t gotten much run support as indicated by his 3-4 record on the year. Confidence Meter: 6

7:10- St.  Louis Cardinals: The Cards send ace Adam Wainwright to the mound against the Reds at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati where he’ll be opposed by Mike Leake. Both starters have been pitching very well as of late, but the Cards offense came alive last night hitting five home runs in their 12-8 win over Arizona. The Reds have dropped three of four, but did beat Wainwright earlier this season. Confidence Meter: 4

Mar 9, 2013; Fayetteville, AR, USA; Aurieyall Scott of UCF (second from right) defeats English Gardner of Oregon (second from left) to win the womens 60m, 7.13 to 7.15, in the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Center. From left: Kimberlyn Duncan (LSU), Gardner and Scott and Octavious Freeman of UCF. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

8:00- Any Other Competitor: Octavious Freeman is the favorite in the Women’s 100m final, but there are some other very strong options in the field including her teammate Aurieyall Scott. English Gardner is running on her home track in Eugene and Kimberly Duncan of LSU also has a solid shot to win. Sure Freeman could win, but she’s definitely not the only option and AOC gives you multiple solid options. Confidence Meter: 5

8:10- Philadelphia Phillies: Cliff Lee beat the Brewers his last time out and faces Milwaukee again tonight this time at Miller Park. The Brewers are struggling especially at home where they’ve dropped 15 of their last 19 games. They’ll counter Lee with Alfredo Figaro making just his second start of the year while spending most of the year in the bullpen. The Phillies have won five straight riding the surge of Domonic Brown and look to beat Milwaukee again tonight after winning 5-1 in yesterday’s series opener. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- Boston Bruins: The Bruins can close out the sweep with a win tonight, and I think if the Pens were going to get a game in this series it was game three. Tuukka Rask kept them from doing that, and tonight could get ugly in a hurry as the Bruins look to wrap up the series and book a spot in the finals. The Penguins are frustrated and desperate, but I don’t think that means they get a win. Confidence Meter: 5

10:10- LA Dodgers: Pull up a piece of Puig-mania and go with the Dodgers in the late-MLB window. Hyun-Jin Ryu has been great lately although he had to push this start back due to a foot issue. He pitched a two-hitter his last time out and tonight faces the Braves who struggle against lefty starters.  Ryu will be backed by Yasiel Puig and the emerging Dodgers offense as they face Paul Maholm who has struggled recently on the road. LA is one of the stronger picks of the night in my opinion and a great way to finish the day with a green. Confidence Meter: 7
