Monday is game three of the action-packed NHL Stanley Cup Finals, but that’s not the only place today’s Streak for the Cash picks come from. There’s an early pick from the ICC Champions Trophy cricket match followed by a Confederations Cup soccer match and a NCAA College World Series elimination game. Tonight the NHL game is joined by some MLB picks, another college baseball game, and  a pair of NHL props.

6/17 Streak Picks

8:00- 25 Runs or More: I’m not a huge cricket fan, but those “in the know” tell me this is a reachable prop. This isn’t a lock, to be sure, but I would take the over if I had to make the pick. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

3:00- Any Other Result: Tahiti takes on Nigeria in Group B of the Confederations Cup. This prop is for Nigeria to win by 3 or 4 or any other result. I doubt Tahiti can hold Nigeria to only four goals, so I’ll go AOR. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

3:05- Oregon State wins by 2 Runs or More: I’m a Beaver believer. I was surprised they lost their opener, but this team seems to play its best with its back to the wall which it definitely is now. Louisville +1.5 is a pretty solid favorite at -160, but I’m taking OSU. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- Cardinals win by 2 Runs or More: I hate giving runs in MLB games, but Shclby Miller and the Cardinals at home are solid favorites and should win by multiple runs. However, I hate giving runs so its only Confidence Meter: 4

7:08- Detroit Tigers: The Tigers send Max Scherzer to the mound as he looks to be the first 10-game winner in the American League. He’ll have to beat the Orioles who are coming off a solid weekend series where they took three of four from the Red Sox. Tonight they’ll send Jake Arrieta to the mound after they recalled him from Triple-A to start in place of Jason Hammel who is dealing with an illness. Arrieta hasn’t found much success this year coming in 1-1 with a 6.63 ERA. On the other hand, Scherzer is on an incredible run or success though going 16-1 in his last 27 starts with just a 2.66 ERA. He has struggled against the O’s in the past, but he should be able to get past them for his 10th win tonight. Confidence Meter: 7

7:10- Cincinnati Reds: The Reds and Pirates meet in a great NL-Central showdown and both start the series with hot pitchers on the mound. The Reds who have won five of their last seven turn to Mike Leake who has gone 4-1 with a 1.13 ERA over his last six outings. He’ll be opposed but a pitcher who was just as hot, Francisco Liriano, but Liriano did struggle in his last outing and has only beaten the Reds twice in eight career starts against them. The Reds are also 24-12 at home and took two of three from the Pirates in their last meeting after the Pirates swept their first meeting. Leake and the Reds are both on a roll, and I think they’ll keep it going tonight against the Bucs and their tough lefty. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- Boston Bruins: At the beginning of the series, I picked Boston in six and think they’ll be able to control home ice and get the win tonight. They actually played better in game one, I thought, but lost in triple-overtime. They didn’t play well for long parts of game two but won in overtime thanks in large part to great goaltender play from Tuukka Rask. I think Rask and the Bruins D comes out hard tonight and they take the 2-1 series lead. Confidence Meter: 6

8:10- Yes Bruins lead in 1st Period: It easily could be scoreless, but the Bruins should come out fired up in Boston so I’d take them to take a lead in the first at some point. Probably 1-0, but lots can go wrong with this prop. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2

8:11- Houston Astros: Houston goes for a four game sweep of the White Sox behind Bud Norris. Norris has put up five quality starts in a row but has lost his last two due to lack of run support. At home, Norris has been solid all year with a 2.28 ERA in his eight starts at Minute Maid Park. The White Sox counter with Dylan Axelrod who was hammered at home his last outing allowing six runs in just four innings. Confidence Meter: 4

10:05- Los Angeles Angels: The Angels host the Mariners in this AL West nightcap. They’ll send Jason Vargas to the mound against his old team as they face the Mariners Aaron Harang. Vargas limited the M’s to two runs in Seattle but took the complete game loss as they fell 2-1. The Angels lineup has been better lately and they’ve won three of their last four. Mike Trout has been heating up and I think he’ll carry the Halos past Harang who has been inconsistent this season although he was great his last start which came against Houston. Confidence Meter: 5
