July has been a tough month for Streak for the Cash players with plenty of unpredictability in the MLB options and with a slew of Wimbledon upsets. Tuesday, hopefully, things will start to turn around with a full slate of options form a jam-packed baseball schedule joined by cycling, soccer, and the WNBA. Here’s the picks I’ll be watching:

7/9 Streak Picks

6:55- Mark Cavendish: The cycling gurus on the board think this is a good leg for Cavendish to win.  He’s a -110 favorite so I’ll go with him to beat the field. If you have much of a streak, I’d stay away, though. Confidence Meter: 3

2:45- Limerick: Limerick is a solid home team in the Irish Premier League as they host the Bray Wanderers. Bray is just 3-0-6 on the road. Earlier in the season Bray hosted Limerick and Limerick won 4-0. Confidence Meter: 5

7:05- Texas Rangers: The Rangers won the first game in their series against Baltimore last night and now turn to rookie Martin Perez as they look to improve on their AL-best 25-18 road record. Perez has gone 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA coming into this game when he’ll face Zach Britton who has struggled to a 2-2 record with a 4.03 ERA. This should be another good game, but the Rangers are rolling on the road and have the advantage in the starting pitching matchup. Confidence Meter: 6

7:10- Tampa Bay Rays: The Rays are going for their sixth straight win as they give the ball to Chris Archer who has put together a run of solid starts. He’ll face a struggling Twins team that has won just one of their last nine games and is 3-11 in their last 14 road games. Minnesota will hope to reverse those trends behind Kyle Gibson who will need to turn his own performance around after getting shelled for eight runs in 5 1/3 his last start against the Yankees. The Rays are playing well and the Twins are struggling making this the best pick in the early window. Confidence Meter: 7

8:10- Cincinnati Reds: Tony Cingrani is back in the rotation for the Reds as they take on the Brewers. Cingrani did well in his earlier audition but was forced to the bullpen when the Reds starters were all healthy. He faces Wily Peralta today who has been in the rotation all season but has struggled most of the time coming in with a 5.27 ERA and a 5.9 record. Confidence Meter: 5

8:30- Costa Rica wins by 2+: If you’re staying away from baseball, the soccer pick is acctually a pretty strong one since Cuba is a pretty bad team. Costa Rica is heavily favored and should be able to win by multiple goals. Confidence Meter: 6

9:05- Minnesota Lynx: The Lynx are at home so I’m picking them to beat the Dream even though Atlanta has a better record. Minnesota is undefeated this season at home and has dominated the head-to-head matchups between these two teams recently. Confidence Meter: 4

10:10- San Diego Padres: The best pick in the late baseball window is the Padres at home as they give the ball to Eric Stults who has been very good lately against Jhoulys Chacin who struggled in his last start. Cahcin allowed four runs in 5 2/3 against the Dodgers in his last start. Meanwhile, Stults has allowed two runs or less in his last five starts at Petco where he is 3-1 with a 2.85 ERA on the season.

11:00- USA Wins by 3+ Goals: The US team beat Guatemala in their warmup 6-0 and Guatemala played to a draw against this Belize team. Belize is another pretty dreadful squad and the US should be able to pile on goals. Confidence Meter: 7

11:01- 5 Corners or more: I think the US will be in attack mode for most of the first half and be earning lots of corners from a scrambling Belize defense. This will probably be close. Confidence Meter: 3
