ESPN’s Streak for the Cash has a solid Saturday with plenty of soccer on the board from the MLS and international competitions. There’s also the usual stash of MLB picks to be made as well. I’ll give you my quick take on the picks for today, and just list my MLB picks. Here are my picks for today with my confidence level in each.

7/13 Streak Picks

6:40- Any other position: This Tour de France prop is for the finish of Peter Sagan in 1-3 or any other. Sagan finished second yesteray but many are expecting a breakaway meaning he may end up back in the pack. Picking any one rider to finish top three is always high risk since so much can go wrong, but I don’t feel great about AOP either. I’d stay away, but take any other if you have to. Confidence Meter: (out of 10)

11:00- Iraq U20 win or draw: One of the most surprisingly successful teams in the U20 World Cup has been Iraq who battled their way to this consolation game. I think they’ll be more focuesed than a talented Ghana squad to won this event four years ago. Getting the draw, Iraq is a solid pick but not a lock. Confidence Meter: 4

1:40- No Johnson doesn’t lead at end of 3rd round: Johnson has been under par forever at the John Deere Classic. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be in the lead at the end of the third. There are just too many players who can go way, way low and get the lead. Confidence Meter: 5

2:00- France U20: France has been one of the best teams all U20 World Cup and is heavily favored to get the win in the final. Uruguay is solid and could get the win, but it would be an upset. This is the best early pick. Confidence Meter: 6

3:35- US Wins by 4+ goals: The US has been cruising so far in Gold Cup action, and Cuba is near the same level of teams that they’ve been rolling over. 4+ is a lot of goals, but I think the Americans keep rolling. Confidence Meter: 5

7:05-Montreal Impact win/draw: The Iampact are 9-4-4 currently sitting atop the Eastern Conference Standings. They”re 3-3-2 on the road as they yead to NYC to take on the Red Bulls who are also having a solid year at 8-7-4. At home they’re 4-3-3, but the Red Bulls have dropped three of their last four while the Impact come in off a pair of draws. Getting the drwaw option with the top team is unuaual, so take Montreal for the green. Confidence Meter: 4

7:05- Cleveland Indians: Confidence Meter-5

7:15- Detroit Tigers: Confidnece Meter-4

7:15- Chicago Cubs: Confidence Meter-3

7:15- Miami Marlins: Confidence Meter-3 1/2

10:05- Seattle Mariners: Confidence Meter-4

10:10- San Diego Padres: Confidence Meter-5

10:10- Arizona Diamondbacks: Confidence Meter-6

10:15- Portland Timbers Win: This is a tough one since the Galaxy are playing well having won three of their last four as they head to Portland. The Timbers has also been playing well even though they lost their 15-game unbeaten streak  their last time out against Columbus. Ultimately, I’ll take Portland since they’re so good at home 5-1-2 while LA is just 3-6-1 on the road.
