College Football returns to Streak for the Cash with a solid Thursday night schedule joining soccer, tennis, baseball, and NFL Preseason to give us a jam-packed, 29-pick board. Let’s get right to the picks–Here’s my rundown of quick previews and analysis on today’s matchups with a confidence rating of 1-10 with 10 being the most confident.

8/29 Streak Picks

11:00- Rubin Kazan wins by 2+: They just won 2-0 at Molde in the first leg and winning by two at home should be easier. They don’t need to win to advance, so I don’t like giving the goal, but I have no confidence in Molde making Kazan the pick. Confidence Meter: 3

Aug 26, 2013; New York, NY, USA; Serena Williams (USA) reacts during her match against Francesca Schiavone (ITA) on day one of the 2013 US Open at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Mandatory Credit: Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

1:10- 4 games or more: Serena only dropped one game in her last match, but Voskoboeva played her tough in their only previous meeting. Serena lost five games when they met last year in Rome on clay. Williams is so dominant, though, it’s hard to pick against her even just to lose two games per set. Confidence Meter: 4

1:10- New York Mets: The Mets are at home as they look to earn a split with the Phils behind Carlos Torres. Torres steps into the rotation spot of injured ace Matt Harvey and will be opposed in this one by Ethan Martin who has struggled at the MLB level so far this season. I think they’ll bounce back and beat Martin. Confidence Meter: 3 1/2

1:10- Los Angeles Angels: Jason Vargas missed almost two months with a blood clot in his arm, but he looked back to form in his last start. He’ll face the Rays as the Angels look to take the rubber game and get their fifth win in their last six games. Jake Odorizzi gets the call for the Rays, but he’s struggled at the MLB level so far this season. Mike Trout is killing the Rays, and I think he’ll power them to the win again in this one. Confidence Meter: 5

3:05- Any Other Result: Too many goals to give, but Tottenham did win the first leg 5-0. Confidence Meter: 2

5:40- John Isner wins in 3 or 5 sets: Isner is playing extremely well as he takes on Gael Monfils at the US Open. The head-to-head series is tied 3-3, so I think this will be a close one. Both players were dominant in their last match and a give-game set seems likely. Isner is favored slightly,so I’ll take him to win in 5. Confidence Meter: 3

January 1,2013; Tampa, FL, USA; Michigan Wolverines quarterback Devin Gardner (12) runs with the ball as South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (7) and linebacker Shaq Wilson (54) defend during the second half of the 2013 Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Michigan Wolverines 33-28. Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

6:05- South Carolina Winning Margin: South Carolina comes into this season with big expectations. Jadeveon Clowney will be center-stage as he chases Bryn Renner down. Since the game is in Columbia, SC, I think the Gamecocks will pour it on and win by a wide margin. Confidence Meter: 5

7:00- Cincinnati Bengals: It’s NFL Preseason week 4 which means lots of intrigue that has nothing to do with the final score. Confidence Meter: 2 1/2

7:10- Boston Red Sox: Jon Lester has been great lately and the Sox go for the sweep in Fenway. Confidence Meter: 6

7:30- Washington Redskins: More preseason football. Confidence Meter: 3

7:30- New York Giants: Tim Tebow and the Pats finish their preseason against the Giants. Confidence Meter: 2

8:00- Tennessee Titans: The Titans have been impressive this preseason. Confidence Meter: 3

8:05- Utah Utes: This’ll be a good game as the Utes host Utah State in Salt Lake City. I’ll take Utah, but this should be a good game to watch and will probably come down to the wire. Confidence Meter: 4

Dec 31, 2012; Nashville, TN, USA; Vanderbilt Commodores safety Eric Samuels (22) intercepts a pass against the North Carolina State Wolfpack during the first half of the Music City Bowl at LP Field. The Commodores beat the Wolfpack 38-24. Mandatory credit: Don McPeak-USA TODAY Sports

9:15- Vanderbilt: In a great SEC matchup, two up-and-coming teams face off as Vandy takes on Ole Miss. Vanderbilt turns to their new QB Austyn Carta-Samuels after transferring from Wyoming. The Commodore’s defense is solid especially their ball-hawking secondary. Since their home, I feel pretty comfortable that they’ll pull out the win. Confidence Meter: 5

10:35- Fresno State wins by Double Digits: The Bulldogs are 11 point favorites as they host Rutgers to open their season. Confidence Meter: 4

11:05- USC Wins by 25+ Points: USC is favored by 24 and Hawaii is coming off a tough season last year as they went 3-9 under new coach Norm Chow. They’ve lost 16 of its last 19 against ranked opponents and all nine matchups against non-conference foes by an average of 25.7 points. I think USC lays a beatdown in Hawaii tonight in the nightcap. Confidence Meter: 5
