Let the games begin! If you are like me, you have been staring at this date on the calendar for months. It is finally here! Owners of Bulls, Heat, Pacers, Magic, Clippers, and Lakers are ecstatic. If you would have paid attention to my second article, A Great Draft Begins NOW! 2, you could have benefitted from the scheduling phenomenon.
This week is a short one, so don’t be discouraged if things don’t go your way. Owners typically panic when a few losses compile. Do not press the ejection button too early in your fantasy season. Your instincts will tell you to bail, but you must look at your underperformers and overachievers in an objective manner. I cover this in detail in The Fantasy Basketball Trading Bible Chapter 2.
In this week’s NBA fantasy breakdown, we will analyze a few key players and teams.
The Lakers, Heat, and Magic are the only teams that play 4 times in this 6 day period. If you are the lucky owner of Pau Gasol, LeBron, D-Wade, Oladipo, or Vucevic, you can rejoice.
Plug Maurice Harkless into your lineups because Tobias Harris’ injury continues to linger.
For the Lakers, Farmar might be worth a look all season long if Nash is unable to play in back-to-backs and suffers from constant ailments. In addition, Shawne Williams and Nick Young are speculative plays in Kobe’s absence. It looks like the Mamba will be out until Thanksgiving. I told you to draft with caution.
Kenneth Faried and J.J. Hickson need to be inserted in your lineups with Wilson Chandler struggling to recover. Lawson will not be available as well, so someone will have to produce for the Nuggets.
Can D-Rose continue his preseason magic? Will Anthony Davis make the leap into top 5 fantasy territory? Can the Heat pull off the hat trick in a season where the East got even stronger? Will the Dwight-mare spread to cover the entire south? Can LeBron increase his free throw percentage to unseat KD from his fantasy throne?
All of these questions will be answered starting tonight. I can’t wait! Keep tuning in to fantasycpr.com, and send me your questions at [email protected].
