College Football Week 11 Odds & Predictions

I took my laptop on vacation specifically to make the odds post for the week.  I realize this will seem like old news to you, but I wrote this on Tuesday, and havent had internet access until now.  Im back at home after the long drive from Orlando, and a much needed good night’s sleep.  So here you go!  I havent watched any of the games on my DVR yet, so I have a lot of catching up to do!  I will probably have this week’s odds up before my results from this post.

Ohio at Buffalo(-3.5):  The Bulls have been more consistent than the Bobcats, and they are at home.  Im taking Buffalo.

Bowling Green(-23.5) at Miami(OH):  The Redhawks continue to be dreadful.  For anything under 50, I have to take Bowling Green….

Central Michigan at Ball State(-18.5):  This is kinda high, but I really dont trust CMU anymore.  Give me the Lettermans….

(10)Oklahoma at (5)Baylor(-14.5):  I dont think there will be an in between in this game.  Either Oklahoma will win, or they will get blown out.  Baylor hasnt played anyone with a pulse, except Kansas State….and they struggled in that one.  I dont think Baylor wins by two touchdowns.  Or at least I hope they dont.  This may be the homer in me, but Im taking Oklahoma.

Troy at Louisiana-Lafayette(-12.5):  The darlings of Tuesday nights move to Thursday.  Will the success follow them?  Im thinking so.  Give me the Cajuns.

(3)Oregon(-9.5) at (6)Stanford:  For some reason, the Cardinal have been the one team that can slow down the Ducks.  I have to think they can do it again.  I think this stays a one score game with Oregon winning, but they wont cover.  Give me Stanford.

(20)Louisville(-27.5) at Connecticut:  The Cards have had trouble covering lately.  That said, UConn lost to Towson.  Give me Louisville.

Air Force at New Mexico(-2.5):  The Lobos keep burning me, so Im taking Air Force.  No logical reason, just a disgruntled picker….

Iowa(-16.5) at Purdue:  The Iowa offense is a muddling mess, but the D should shut out the Boilers (again), so Im taking Iowa.  They should be able to accidentally score 17…..

Western Kentucky(-7.5) at Army:  The Hilltoppers have had an up and down season, but I still think they are enough better than Army.  Give me WKU.

SMU at Cincinnati(-9.5):  Cincy has had issues on offense since Munchie went down.  I actually like SMU straight up.

North Carolina State at Duke(-9.5):  Is this overcompensation for Duke beating VT?  Maybe a little, but I still like Duke here.

Tulsa at East Carolina(-16.5):  Is Tulsa really this bad?  Probably.  Give me ECU.

Illinois at Indiana(-9.5):  This is way too low.  I know the Indy D has had issues, but this offense will shred the Illini’s excuse for a defense.  Give me Indiana.

TCU(-6.5) at Iowa State: The Toadies have had their problems, but I still think they are a TD better than the Cyclones, even on the road.  Im taking TCU.

(2)Florida State(-33.5) at Wake Forest:  The Deacons are playing pretty well right now, but the Seminoles continue to dominate against everyone.  Im not bucking the trend that has gotten me this far.  Give me Florida State again!

UAB at Marshall(-22.5):  Marshall destroyed a Southern Miss team that isnt much worse than UAB last week, so this seems low.  Give me Marshall.

Virginia Tech at (16)Miami(FL)(-7.5):  The Hurricanes badly need a rebound against a struggling Hokie squad.  I think they get it.  Give me Miami.

Penn State at Minnesota(-1.5):  Penn State hasnt looked that good lately, and the Gophers have.  Minnesota wins BIG!

Syracuse at Maryland(-5.5):  I think this line is backwards.  I dont trust the Terps right now.  Syracuse straight up.

(9)Missouri(-15.5) at Kentucky:  This is way too low!  Kentucky hasnt hung with anyone, and Mauk has been very good filling in for Franklin.  Missouri might win by double this!  Give me Mizzou for my lock of the week!

Virginia at North Carolina(-14.5):  This seems about a half point too high.  Give me Virginia.

Vanderbilt at Florida(-10.5):  I know the Gators have had a tough time on offense, and the defense was exposed a bit last week, but not enough for me to believe Vandy can hang around in this one.  Give me Florida.

Western Michigan(-1.5) at Eastern Michigan:  Both of these teams are awful.  WMU is a bit less awful, so I guess Im taking the Broncos…

Tulane at UTSA(-6.5):  This line looks backwards.  I know UTSA has been solid, but so has Tulane.  I have to go with the Wave, even on the road.

(17)Fresno State(-11.5) at Wyoming:  The Cowboys have had their issues on defense, but so have the Bulldogs.  Give me Wyoming.

Kansas State at Texas Tech(-2.5):  Can TT recover from being hammered by Okie State?  I have my doubts.  K-State has been a different team for the last six weeks.  I actually like the Wildcats straight up.

BYU at Wisconsin(-7.5):  BYU hasnt exactly played well on the road.  Give me the Badgers.

Arkansas at Mississippi(-16.5):  The Razorbacks are still a couple of years away from being competitive again.  Give me Ole Miss.

Nevada at Colorado State(-7.5):  This line is ridiculous.  Nevada straight up!

Colorado at Washington(-27.5):  The Huskies have had a rough go of it lately.  The Ralphies will cure what ails you!  Give me Washington.

Texas(-7.5) at West Virginia:  This seems a bit low with the way the WVU offense has struggled.  Give me Texas.

Arizona State(-6.5) at Utah:  Well, Im not picking against ASU anymore.  Not with the way they have been rolling.  Give me the Devils.

Nebraska at Michigan(-6.5):  Believe it or not, I actually think the Wolverines are the more vulnerable team.  Nebraska can contain Gallon.  The talent of their defense is in the secondary.  Can they run enough to win it?  Probably, but I dont think they win by a touchdown.  Give me Nebraska since Martinez isnt starting.

Hawaii at Navy(-18.5):  The Warriors have been terrible lately, and Navy played well against Notre Dame.  Give me Navy.

UTEP at North Texas(-24.5):  WOW!  This is HUGE.  Oh well, give me UNT.  UTEP has been really really bad in the last month or so….

Kansas at Oklahoma State(-30.5):  The Jayhawks are even worse on the road than at home.  Give me Okie State.

USC(-18.5) at California:  USC is a different team with Orgeron at the helm.  Give me the Trojans.

Notre Dame(-4.5) at Pittsburgh:  As bad as ND looked last week, Pitt has been worse.  Give me the Domers.

Mississippi State at (11)Texas A&M(-19.5):  Too low.  SC did this to the Bulldogs, so I have to think the Aggies will too.  Give me A&M.

Boston College(-24.5) at New Mexico State:  Nothing is too high against a team as bad as NMSU is.  Give me BC.

Utah State(-12.5) at UNLV:  I just dont trust USU without Chuckie, and the Rebs have played very well (for them anyway) lately.  Give me UNLV.

Florida International at Middle Tennessee State(-18.5):  Look, I know FIU is bad, but this is too much.  MTSU hasnt been world beaters either.  Give me FIU.

Arkansas State at Louisiana-Monroe(-4.5):  Ugh, I dont know.  Heads.  Give me Monroe.

Southern Mississippi at Louisiana Tech(-14.5):  I have to go with La Tech.  Southern Miss has been coverered in every game this year.  Its not an accident….

(13)Auburn(-6.5) at Tennessee:  Auburn has looked really good lately with Malzahn back there.  I have to think they can take a down Tennessee team at home.   Give me Aubie.

Houston at Central Florida(-11.5):  If you have read me at all this year, you know I like UCF to win the AAC.  That said, I think this is too many.  Houston has been solid this year.  UCF wins, but not by double digits.

UCLA(-1.5) at Arizona:  WAY too low.  UCLA wins BIG!

(14)LSU at (1)Alabama(-12.5):  This is a rivalry game.  Too many.  I no longer think that LSU can take this game straight up, but they will stick around.  Give me LSU.

San Diego State at San Jose State(-7.5):  The wrong team is favored here.  Give me SDSU straight up.

……and the first few from this week….

Ohio at Bowling Green(-9.5):  I hinted at how schizophrenic the Bobbies have been earlier in the post.  I have to go with Bowling Green here.

Buffalo(-2.5) at Toledo:  The Bulls have been very very good this year, but Toledo is at home.  Tails.  Give me Buffalo.

Miami(OH) at Kent State(-17.5):  Nothing is too high against the Redhawks.  They will make the struggling Flashes look like the 2004 Trojans.  Give me Kent.

Ball State at (15)Northern Illinois(-7.5):  This is possibly the only team that can beat the Huskies this year.  Can they do it?  Possibly.  UNI has had some issues on defense, and the Lettermans have been playing well.  Well enough to at least keep this within a TD.  Give me Ball State.
