Fantasy Basketball: Stephen Curry tops all guards in this week’s player rankings

The Golden State Warriors‘ Stephen Curry is having an MVP-like season, averaging 23.5 points, 9.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 steals and his 3.2 three-pointers per game is tied for the league lead with the Blazers’ Damian Lillard.  If it weren’t for Kevin Durant, he’d probably be the front-runner for the award.  He’s shooting an incredible 86.6 percent from the line (on 4.8 attempts per game) and his 22.14 PER is second among all guards, behind only Chris Paul, the Clippers’ injured star point guard.  Paul George (2nd) and James Harden (3rd) follow Curry in the rankings, but Curry has a sizable advantage over those two due to his high assist totals.  With Paul on the shelf, Curry has solidified himself as the No. 1 fantasy guard, and point guard, in all of basketball.

Each week I will be publishing my player rankings from the point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center positions, as well as an overall rankings piece.  These are “rest of season” rankings and express my feelings towards each player going forward.  A player’s ranking can change at any moment — whether it be due to ineffectiveness, an injury or even a trade.  Since each fantasy league has different scoring, these rankings will try to encompass all formats and give a general overall assessment of each player.

Without any more delay, here are my fantasy basketball point guard rankings for this week:
