The injury bug continues to hurt Fantasy Basketball owners, but while stars continue to go down like flies, if you look hard enough, you can find some sneaky adds on the waiver wire.
One of those guys happens to be Charlotte Bobcats’ guard Ramon Sessions.
Filling in for the injured Kemba Walker, Sessions is a guy who can help you out in a few categories in the short term, especially if you need assists as his 11 dime effort Saturday against the Chicago Bulls is a prime example.
Sessions is a veteran who has proven he can be a productive player when given the opportunity. He is a score-first point guard in a similar mold to Walker, though he relies on getting into the paint and getting to the free-throw line more than Walker.
As soon as Walker returns, Sessions will be pretty much irrelevant in terms of fantasy production, but take advantage of him now.
Sessions is averaging 14.0 points, 5.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds in eight games in which he has played more than 30 minutes this season. Five of those eight have come since Walker’s injury.
Sessions is available in over 80 percent of ESPN leagues right now and as a No. 3 or No. 4 guard on your team, should be able to provide some solid fantasy value.
The Bobcats play three times this week and while Sessions will have his hands full with the Suns’ Goran Dragic and the Nuggets’ Ty Lawson, a matchup against the Lakers is prime for Sessions to have a big night against his former team.
