Point Guard: Aaron Brooks, DEN ($3,600): Aaron Brooks just might be the top value play of the night, with Ty Lawson out again and a matchup vs. Damian Lillard and the Portland Trailblazers (30th vs. opposing PGs). Brooks could score 35 FPs tonight and provide double the value, and even if he doesn’t, I have no doubt in my mind that he will beat his value threshold of 18 FPs by a considerable percentage. Consider Brooks a near must-play, spend the $3,600, and cozy yourself up for a nice 25+ FPs tonight.
Shooting Guard: Kent Bazemore, LAL ($3,600): Call me crazy, but I think Bazemore hits value tonight, even against the stingy defense of the Indiana Pacers. Yes, it’ll probably be a blow out, but Bazemore has been getting minutes and scoring the ball, thus 18 FPs shouldn’t be a problem for him. I wouldn’t expect much more, but value is still value, and I think he gets you just that tonight.
Small Forward: Moe Harkless, ORL ($3,700): Moe Harkless left a lot to be desired in his last start for the Orlando Magic, and may do so again tonight. However, there are not many punt options at the SF spot this evening and for the price you could do much worse. I’m not so sure that I trust Harkless for my cash games given his floor, but with his upside, he could make a fine tournament play.
Power Forward: Trevor Booker, WAS ($3,500)/Thomas Robinson, POR ($4,300)/Mike Scott, ATL ($4,500): All three of these power forwards are in play tonight, due to their team’s usual starters being sidelined and I like them in the order listed. I may even get a little crazy and play two of them and see how it lets me spend up at the other positions. Either way, I think you need to have at least one of these guys in your lineup. Personally I prefer -Booker due to his price and past performance, but would not be surprised if Thomas Robinson is the most highly-owned of the three given his most recent game and strong matchup against the Nuggets.
Center: Timofey Mozgov, DEN ($3,900): Mozgov has been known to produce nearly one FP per minute, so it’s exciting to think about what he could do with the 30+ minutes he’ll receive as the starter tonight. This isn’t the best matchup, as Portland has been pretty stingy against opposing centers, but nonetheless, with big minutes, Mozgov should be able to meet value and get around 20-25 FPs.
Thank you and good luck !!!
