Fantasy Basketball: Heat’s Ray Allen Doubtful Wednesday vs. Pacers

While the Miami Heat will be getting one of their guards back for Wednesday night’s big Eastern Conference tilt against the Indiana Pacers, it appears as if they will be losing another.

Earlier today I looked at the fact that Dwyane Wade would make his return to the lineup after missing two games after being sidelined the past two games with a sore Achilles and knee.

However while Wade returns, Miami will likely be without Ray Allen.

Allen is not expected to play in Wednesday’s game against the Pacers as he is dealing with the flu, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

The veteran played for 32 minutes in Monday’s game against the Blazers with Wade out of action and scored eight points on 3-of-10 shooting.

Allen has averaged only 9.7 points per game on the season, but it probably wasn’t wise to have him in your lineup to begin with.

In two games this season Allen hasn’t fared very well against the Pacers.  He’s scored a total of 10 points on only 3-for-11 shooting, making only two three pointers in the process.

With Allen out of the lineup, you may want to focus on some of Miami’s other reserves if you are in a pinch.

Guys like Norris Cole and Michael Beasley could see some increased production, though I don’t like the matchup enough to really consider either guy unless you are in a bind.
