As the fantasy basketball playoff season heats up, owners will get a taste of good news on Thursday in the form of LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Portland Trail Blazers All-Star big man is expected to make his return to the lineup Thursday night when the Blazers take on the Atlanta Hawks, which amounts to very good news.
Aldridge has been out the past seven games with a lower back contusion, but he has told Chris Haynes of Comcast SportsNet Northwest that he will play tonight.
After missing the last seven games with a back contusion, #Blazers F LaMarcus Aldridge says he will return tonight against the Hawks.

He’s still officially listed as questionable, but taking Aldridge at his word will be a big boost for your fantasy team.
Aldridge is averaging 23.3 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, production that was near impossible to replace while he was on the shelf.
The Blazers went only 3-4 in the seven games that Aldridge was out of the lineup and while Portland has gone smaller lately without their All-Star with Dorrell Wright in the starting lineup, Aldridge’s production is near irreplaceable.
The matchup against the Hawks should be a positive one for Aldridge and the Blazers. Even though both teams have a sense of urgency to win, the Hawks are very thin up front.
Make sure you get Aldridge back in the lineup immediately.
He may not play his usual 36.5 minutes per game, but he will be on the floor long enough to give you his usual double-double impact.
