HIGH FIVE/low five

Daily Fantasy can be quite the grind!  Let us do the grinding for you with “High Five/Low Five”.  Each day, we help put you in the money by presenting you with FIVE of the “top-tier” plays, as well as a quick list of FIVE “value plays”.  Miami Heat SF LeBron James flies high as Friday’s top Daily Fantasy Basketball play.

Let’s rip it up.

Point Guard: Deron Williams, BKN ($7,200): With most of our top-priced options involved in either a difficult matchup, potential blowout, or questionable to play, I think it’s safe to move down a tier in price and play someone like Williams.  Williams has back to back 40+ FP games coming into this plus matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who rank a lowly 28th vs. PGs on the season.  Granted, the over/under here isn’t as tasty as some other games, but they never are for Brooklyn Nets games.  I’m expecting Williams to produce in the 35-40 FP range, which is right near his value threshold of 36 FPs.

A couple of other names worth considering are Ricky Rubio, MIN ($7,000), who will be taking on an equally inept Los Angeles Lakers defense and Russell Westbrook, OKC ($8,700) who could do some serious work vs. the Sacramento Kings, though he’s probably better trusted to tourney lineups.

Shooting Guard: Tyreke Evans, NO ($8,300): Despite a few off games in his last ten where he only produced about 30 FPs, Evans has for the most part put up between 35-40 FPs each game.  I suspect that we will see a performance in that 35-40 FP range tonight, probably closer to 40 FPs, when he squares off with the Utah Jazz who have been average at best vs. all three wing positions.

Also take a look at Kevin Martin, MIN ($5,800) in a great matchup vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, in what should be an extremely high scoring game

Small Forward: LeBron James, MIA ($10,400): With three straight games over 45 FPs, LeBron is rolling just in time for a plus matchup vs. the Detroit Pistons.  The Pistons are just 27th and 28th vs. SFs on the season and over the last 15 days, respectively.  With this game expected to be competitive enough for LeBron to get his full complement of minutes, a fourth straight 45+ FP game seems likely.  If Wade were declared out, the potential for a 55 FP night is out there.

Power Forward: Kevin Love, MIN ($11,200): With two straight games under 30 FPs, Kevin Love may be a little under-owned.  However, a high scoring matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers who are a league worst against the PF spot, is simply too good to pass up entirely.  That said, I will not be rostering him everywhere, and on the rosters that I do pass him up, I’ll be playing Anthony Davis, NO ($10,900).

One more name that must definitely be considered is, Tim Duncan, SA ($7,900).  Duncan absolutely obliterated the same Denver Nuggets team he’ll face tonight for 55 FPs on Wednesday.

Center: Joakim Noah, CHI ($9,400): Noah’s all around game should translate to 40+ FPs against the Portland Trail Blazers, who have been middle of the road vs. the center position for most of the year.

Andre Drummond, DET ($7,900) is also capable of 40 FPs against the Miami Heat who are just 26th over the last 15 days and on the season vs. centers
