Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has left tonight’s game after the third inning against the San Diego Padres with a wrist injury.  Harper injured his wrist sliding into third base after a bases clearing triple.  Harper came around to score on an RBI single by Jose Lobaton.  There is no official word on how serious Harper’s injury is at this time.

His status for Saturday would seem to be doubtful.  The Nationals will be careful with their star outfielder.  Nate McClouth would seem to be the logical choice to replace Harper in left field tomorrow against the Padres’ Andrew Cashner.  As of now, McClouth wouldn’t be worth picking up except in the deepest of leagues.  Those of you who own Harper should make sure to have a fall back plan for the next few days in case Harper is forced to miss several games.

Considering Harper stayed in the game to score on the next play, I would be surprised if he missed more than one game unless something else is revealed when they check him out.
