Cleveland Browns vs Detroit Lions

  1. Not much was shown in this game for fantasy purposes, so we will start with the running back battle between Ben Tate and Terrance West.  West’s stock is on the rise so far this summer, so this game had a lot riding on it for West.  Ben Tate ran well and hard for 25 yards on six carries, but he did have a fumble.  Terrance West ran for 22 yards on 10 carries, so it still seems that Ben Tate won round one.  Stay tuned.
  2. The battle between Johnny Manziel and Brian “The Destroyer” Hoyer did not resolve much of anything. I am a big supporter of Hoyer due to the fact that Jordan Cameron is one of his favorite targets along with Josh Gordon, who had four targets.  If Hoyer ends up starting, Jordan Cameron gets a nice bump up in the tight end rankings.  If Manziel ends up starting, he could be a nice late round flier for a backup QB.  He would also be very relevant in two quarterback leagues.
  3. To put in perspective how much of a yawner this was, nobody found the end zone until the fourth quarter when Lions backup Kellen Moore led the team to paydirt and a come from behind win.  So no, fantasy-wise, there wasn’t much to take away from this game.
