It is being reported (by Cliff Lee himself) that after an all-day flirt fest with the New York Yankees, the Seattle Mariners have decided to deal their rent-an-ace in division to the Texas Rangers.
The fantasy focus of this deal is of course that Lee is going to a better team with infinitely better run support. Even with very little help from his offense, Lee has been as dominant as expected, going 8-3 with a 2.34 earned run average and now he has the added bonus of not having to pitch a shutout every time he takes to the mound. There [...]

Hitting Heads Up:
I can almost guarantee you that Clint Barmes is available in your league, unless you are in the deepest of deep leagues. Despite hitting .407 with 2 homers and 7 RBI over the last week coming into last night, the Rockies’ middle infielder raised his average to .252 and has a season total of 6 home runs. Barmes continues to be red hot going going 2-4 with an RBI on Thursday night. Barmes can be a nice fill in player for someone looking for a boost and he has added benefit because he can play either short or [...]
It’s days like this that I really love my job. I turn on the television, and fire up the ole laptop preparing to search for a topic to write about, and the search takes exactly 30 seconds. What a weird and whacky end to the work week.
Let’s start with the first game of the day. What a long strange trip it’s been for the Chicago Cubs’ Carlos Zambrano. From end of the bullpen guy, to best number three starter in all of baseball to ace, to just opening day starter, to eighth inning guy, back to starter, and now to…..former [...]
Wrapping Up: Brad Bounces Back
First off, those of you who are regular readers of CPR are probably noticing that I am not the usual writer of the “Wrapping Up” column, but I am in fact the new fantasy baseball writer for Fantasy CPR. My name is Oliver and I also am the lead writer for Fan Sided’s Nebraska Cornhuskers blog “Husker Corner“. But enough about me, on to the column.
Hitting Heads Up
Matt Holliday is one of the hottest hitters in baseball these days and is thoroughly enjoying the Cardinals’ AL swing. After going 3-5 with a homer and two RBI last night, Holliday is [...]

Pitching Pulse
- New York’s Jonathon Niese threw a sparkling one-hitter in the night cap of a doubleheader against the Padres Thursday from Citi Field. The young righty allowed just a lone single to San Diego’s Chris Denorfia in the third inning, before retiring the next 21 straight batters to end the game. Niese is owned in just 4% of Yahoo! leagues as of today, with that number sure to rise. In comparison to other pitchers with breakthrough performances this season, Niese has a good [...]

Hitting Heads Up
- The Rockies’ Brad Hawpe has started to heat up in June. The Colorado right fielder went 3-for-4 Wednesday with a double and an RBI in Houston’s 6-2 win over the Rockies. The performance was the fourth straight multi-hit game for the outfielder who spent time on the DL earlier this season. Hawpe is a career .283 hitter and is a safe bet to crank out 20 homers a year with the thin air of Coors Field serving as his home park. [...]

Hitting Heads Up
- Juan Uribe may not be the sexiest fantasy option around, but the Giants’ veteran has definitely been a solid fantasy contributer thus far in 2010. The utility man has nine homers on the year and drove in four RBIs Monday in the Giants’ 6-5 win over Cincinnati. Uribe now has 37 RBIs on the season, a .280 average and an OPS over .800. Not bad production at all for a player who was an after thought in most mixed league [...]
