There was also the usual overachieving players who are mostly unowned (under 50%) in ESPN Leagues but made an impact for their teams. Each day we give you a lineup of productive players who are widely available. Percentages or ownership in ESPN leagues.

Sleeper Starting Lineup

C-Jonathan Lucroy-Mil: (17.7%) Lucroy continues to hit like a top 10 catcher going 2-4 with a double, RBI, and two runs scored. He’s now batting .330 with a couple home runs, 17 RBI, and 10 runs scored on the year. He’s hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games and makes a nice addition if you need help at the catcher position.

May 11, 2012; Milwaukee, WI, USA; Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Travis Ishikawa (45) during the game against the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park. Mandatory Credit: Benny Sieu-US PRESSWIRE

1B-Travis Ishikawa-Mil: (0.0%) Last Friday, Ishikawa’s average dropped to .186 and he was quickly losing his time-share at first base in Milwaukee. Saturday he had a pair of doubles and two runs scored and he followed that with his best game of the year last night. Ishikawa hit two home runs and drove in five while going 3-4 and raising his average to .260. He’s still in a battle for playing time, but the Brewers are desperate for offense and Ishikawa has shown the last two games that he can produce.

2B-Mark Ellis-LAD: (22.5%) Ellis provided all the Dodgers offense by hitting his second home run of the year last night against Arizona. He finished 3-4 bringing his batting average to .279 with nine RBI’s and an impressive 26 runs scored. He’s fifth in the NL in runs, but may suffer short-term from Matt Kemp’s absence.

3B-Alberto Callaspo-LAA: (0.2%) The Angels have a crowded infield but Callaspo has been hitting well recently. He went 2-4 with a double, run scored, and RBI while his average improved to .238 after a tough start.

May 15, 2012; Minneapolis, MN, USA: Minnesota Twins shortstop Brian Dozier (20) hits a double in the fifth inning against the Cleveland Indians at Target Field. Mandatory Credit: Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

SS-Brian Dozier-Min: (0.4%) Not that the Twins lineup is an outstanding source of offense, but Dozier is being given every opportunity to be the everyday shortstop in Minnesota. He went 3-4 yesterday and has multiple hits in three of his last four games. In his first nine games played he’s 11-37 (.297) with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, five runs scored, and an OBP of .333. He has shown the ability to get on base and create in the minor leagues and will continue to try and translate that to the Big Leagues.

May 15, 2012; Washington, DC, USA; San Diego Padres right fielder Will Venable (25) runs out a triple against the Washington Nationals during the second inning at Nationals Park. Mandatory Credit: Brad Mills-US PRESSWIRE

OF-Will Venable-SD: (1.0%) The Padres left-handed outfielder continues to lead off for the Padres. He went 4-5 yesterday with a run scored, double, triple, and RBI. He added his fifth stolen base while bringing his average to .280. His average, speed, and runs scored make him worth a look even with the impending return of Carlos Quentin.

OF-Jarrod Dyson-KC: (5.5%) Dyson has been a big part of the Royals recent resurgence. He went 2-4 in Arlington yesterday while walking, doubling, and scoring three runs. He has 17 runs scored in his first 18 games while stealing four bases and hitting .304. He’s firmly entrenched at the top of the KC lineup.

OF-Rajai Davis-Tor: (0.2%) Another speedster worth a look if you need cheap steals is Rajai Davis. He is back from a hip injury and appears to be healthy as he continues to platoon with Eric Thames. His last two games have been impressive as he has gone 2-3 in each game and has stolen three bases. He now has six on the year with a .333 OBP and 13 runs scored in 38 at-bats.

May 15, 2012; Minneapolis, MN, USA: Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Derek Lowe (26) shakes hands with catcher Lou Marson (6) after pitching a complete game against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The Indians won 5-0. Mandatory Credit: Jesse Johnson-US PRESSWIRE

AL Starting Pitcher-Derek Lowe-Cle: (25.6%) Lowe pitched a complete game shutout for the Tribe as he moved to 6-1 in his first eight Cleveland starts. He shot down the Twins while allowing six hits and four walks. He threw 115 sinkers in his 127 pitches and went without a strikeout while getting the Twins to ground out over and over again.

NL Starting Pitcher-Anthony Bass-SD: (4.9%) The pitching matchup in Washington appeared to be skewed to the home team with Stephen Strasburg on the hill, but it was Bass who got his team the win while going eight innings and allowing just a Bryce Harper home run, five hits, and a walk while striking out seven. He is 2-4 now with a 2.87 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. He’s worth a look as a spot starter especially at Petco.

Relief Pitcher-Tim Collins-KC: (0.3%) The Royals reliever struck out five in two clean innings of work yesterday against the Rangers. He now has a 3.32 ERA with three holds and a win. He has appeared in 17 games for the Royals and has only allowed runs in two while striking out 28 in 19 innings of work.

If your starting pitching is off to a rough start this week, there’s some nice options on the waiver wire in most leagues. Each day on Fantasy CPR, we’ve been selecting three starting pitchers owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues. At the bottom of this post you can take a look at our results for the past week.

May 6, 2012; Detroit, MI, USA; Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland (left) takes the ball from starting pitcher Rick Porcello (right) during the seventh inning against the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park. Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE

Here’s probable starters who can step in and help your bulging ERA. They’re also the best streaming starter picks for today:

Rick Porcello-Det: (10.0%) Don’t be fooled by his ugley 5.18 ERA or his 3-3 record. Porcello has gone at least six innings while allowing three earned runs or less in four of his seven starts. The fact that he and the Tigers offense face the anemic Minnesota Twins and Nick Blackburn’s 7+ ERA would seem to point to a solid start for Porcello.

May 9, 2012; Pittsburgh, PA, USA; Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Erik Bedard (45) pitches against the Washington Nationals during the first inning at PNC Park. Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-US PRESSWIRE

Eric Bedard-Pit: (20.8%) If you need K’s, Bedard could be the way to go. He struck out 20 in his previous two starts before leaving his last after just an inning due to back spasms. He and the Pirates visit the Nats tonight who have been struggling offensively. Bedard should be well rested and ready to improve on his 2-4 record although he has a 2.57 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP.

Felipe Paulino-KC: (1.3%) Paulino looked great against the Yankees in his first start, but struggled a bit against the White Sox last time out. He allowed a bases clearing triple that made his final line look slightly worst than it actually was. He’s an option tonight as the Royals (who just swept Texas) host the Orioles and their patchwork lineup.
