ESPN’s Streak for the Cash rolls into Thursday with a deep board of 13 picks. Just like yesterday, we start things with UEFA soccer this time from the Europa League before turning our attention to the hardwood tonight. The one big addition is the Thursday Night Football pick which gives an option for the non-hoops pickers. Here’s my favorite picks for today and my slowly-improving results for December:

Streak Picks for 12/6

1:00- Liverpool win: Liverpool has all their stars ready to play needing a win to move on. Udinese has already been eliminated and has nothing to play for. Confidence Meter: 5 (out of 10)

3:05- Tottenham Hotspur wins by 2+ goals: A draw does Panathinaikos no good wo they’ll be in full attack mode which could leave them open and vulnerable at the back. They’ve dropped their road games to Lazio and NK Moribor 3-0 in this group stage already so I think Tottenham can get at least two goals here. Confidence Meter: 3

7:02- Providence by Double Digits: The 6-2 Friars host the 2-6 Rams. Four of Providence’s six wins have been by Double-Digits while RI is averaging just 59.8 points per game although they did hang with Ohio State losing by only nine. I think Providence at home runs away from the low-scoring Rams. Confidence Meter: 5

Dec 3, 2012; Syracuse, NY, USA; Syracuse Orange guard Trevor Cooney (10) dunks the ball during the second half against the Eastern Michigan Eagles at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse defeated Eastern Michigan 84-48. Mandatory Credit: Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

8:05- Syracuse wins by 20+: The Orange are blowing out everyone at home in their rise into the top-5. They’ve won their last four home games by 20+ against Wagner, Princeton, Colgate, and EMU. Long Beach State has played some bigger names but has a brutal trip to Syracuse and than Ohio State. They lost at Arizona by 22 and to UNC by 15 at home. Confidence Meter: 5

8:15- Miami Heat: The Heat come home trying to avoid consecutive losses after falling to Washington their last time out. Carmelo Anthony is considered a gametime decision after getting six stitches in the Knicks game last night. Miami is unbeaten at home and the Knicks are 6-4 away from Madison Square Garden. The line is 7.0 in favor of Miami and with the ‘Melo injury it should swing even more. If the Streak PTB’s leave this as a straight-up pick, Miami is definitely the way to go. Confidene Meter: 8

Sep 30, 2012; Denver, CO, USA; Denver Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas (88) is pursued by Oakland Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain (55) on a 40-yard reception at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The Broncos defeated the Raiders 37-6. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-USA TODAY Sports

8:30- Broncos by double-digits: Denver is on quite the roll as they head to Oakland for this Thursday Night Football AFC West showdown. The Broncos have won seven in a row but only two have been by double-digits. The reason I feel comfortable picking them here is how bad the Raiders have been lately. Oakland has dropped five in a row, and every one of those losses was by double digits except last week’s to the lowly Browns. When these two teams met week four Denver rolled 37-6 behind a huge second-half. I think in the end of tonight’s game Peyton and the Ponies win by at least two scores. Confidence Meter: 7

10:40- Phoenix Suns: The Mavs played last night in LA and got handled by the Clippers. Now they head to the desert to face Phoenix who have stumbled home after a 1-5 road trop. They’ve actually won two of their last three at home and have played right with some good teams. The Suns have been in ton of close games and the Mavs will have real trouble with Goran Dragic, so I’ll go with the home team in the late TNT game. Confidence Meter: 4

December Results

Monday Picks: 6-2

December Total: 24-24

My Entry (most confident picks): 10-7

Current Streak: W3

Longest Streak of the month: W3

This is it! November comes to a close on ESPN’s Streak for the Cash with another full day of picks. Soccer and golf get us started with two big college football conference championships in the MAC and Pac-12 amidst a sea of pro and college hoops tonight. After a solid day of picks yesterday, hopefully I can finish the month strong with these picks:

Picks for 11/30

9:15- Kuban Krasnodar win: Krasnodar is 6-4-7 in the Russian Premier LEague as they host Kuban Krasnodar who are 10-1-6. However, it’s important to take note of the home-road splits in this one since Krasnodar is 6-1-2 at home and Kuban Krasnodar is just 5-0-4 on the road. These two teams share a city and stadium so the “road” game is pretty relative. Kuban has taken the outright win in five of their six and eight of ten. They’ve also won the two matchups this season. Confidence Meter: 4

Sep 30, 2012; Medinah, IL, USA; European golfer Ian Poulter pounds his chest as he approaches the first tee during the 39th Ryder Cup on day three at Medinah Country Club. Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE

12:38- Ian Poulter win/draw: Poulter gets the tie here despite haveing a better overall score (+1 to +2) and a better front nine (+2 to +3). Poulter gave back three shots in two holes on the back nine, while Johnson started with three bogies in a row. While both players were close to lower scores, Poulter with the tie in a nine-hole prop is the safer pick. Confidence Meter: 5

3:15- FC Porto win: Porto is undefeated through its first 10 games in La Liga and has only a pair of draws. Braga comes into this one 5-2-3 in league play. The two squads met earlier this week in league play and Porto pulled out the 2-0 win with a pair of late goals. As long as FC Porto brings its team (which I have no reason to doubt), they should again emerge victorious. Confidence Meter: 5

6:33- Georgetown Hoyas: In what should be another another entertaining Big East/SEC matchup, Georgetown hosts the Vols at the Verizon Center in DC. The Hoyas knocked off then-#11 UCLA and took #1 Indiana to overtime in Brooklyn and are undefeated at home. Tennessee opened their year with a trip to Puerto Rico where they fell to Oklahoma State but beat UNCA and UMASS. Georgetown has played better teams and should be able to get the win at home for the Big East. Confidence Meter: 7

7:00- Brooklyn Nets: The Nets are 10-4 and playing well as they visit the 5-9 Magic. Brooklyn will be without Brook Lopez, but a big night from D-Will and Joe Johnson slowly regaining his shot should be enough to get the Nets the road win. Confidence Meter: 6

7:03- South Florida: I think tonight will be a big night for Big East basketball as the USF Bulls join the Hoyas in getting points in the showdown with the SEC. USF is 4-2 while visiting Georgia is 2-4. The Bulldogs had dropped four in a row to Youngstown State, USM, Indiana, and UCLA before getting a win over East Tennessee State their last time out. USF hasn’t played as big programs, but has faired better getting wins over Loyola (Il), Bradley, Maryland-Easter Shore, and Stetson. Their wins aren’t that impressive, but I still think they get the win at home in the Sun Dome. Confidence Meter: 3

7:05- Northern Illinois: The MACtion may be about to crash the BCS. The winner of tonight’s Marathon MAC Football championship between the Kent State Golden Flashes and the Norther Illinois Huskies has a shot of sneaking into a BCS game. Kent State is headed to a bowl game for the first time since 1972 behind its pair of thousand-yard rushers Dri Archer and Trayion Durham. NIU doesn’t have two thousand-yard rushers, but it does have a dual-threat QB with Jordan Lynch who leads a high-powered Huskies offense. Both teams were 8-0 in MAC play. NIU lost by a single point to Iowa to open the season, and Kent lost to Kentucky in week 2. Both teams are in the top 12 in the nation rushing the ball so it should be a good matchup. I actually hope the Golden Flashes pull the upset and get into the BCS, but NIU was in the championship game last year and they have the experience and more well-rounded offense which makes them my pick here. Confidence Meter: 4

8:05- Stanford wins by double digits: Stanford rolled UCLA 35-17 just last week at UCLA and now faces the Bruins at Stanford. Stanford is favored by 8.5 and I think they’ll cover this spread as well as that one as they get ready for a Rose Bowl berth most likely against Nebraska. Confidence Meter: 7

Nov 25, 2012; Syracuse, NY, USA; Syracuse Orange guard Brandon Triche (20) makes a layup over Colgate Raiders guard Luke Roh (4) during the second half of a game at the Carrier Dome.Syracuse won the game 87-51. Mandatory Credit: Mark Konezny-US PRESSWIRE

8:35- Syracuse wins by double digits: The Orange are on the road in this one but have pummeled all their opponents this season including then-#20 San Diego State in San Diego, although on a neutral court which happened to be floating, btw. The Razorbacks have lost their last two games to Arizona State and Wisconsin after opening with three home wins over weaker opponents. Syracuse should be able to pick up another comfortable win here. Confidence Meter: 8

November’s Numbers

Thursday Picks: 6-3

Month Total: 144-115

My Entry (most confident picks): 47-31

Current Streak: L1

Longest Streak of the month: W8
