Over the last decade, no position has been tougher to deal with in fantasy football than tight end, with the increasing lack of reliable options.

For over a decade, Travis Kelce has reigned supreme as the clear-cut TE1 who was considered the only tight end worth taking in the first round of fantasy drafts. But after years of relentless dominance, Kelce finally started showing signs of his decline in 2023 and briefly contemplated retirement before deciding he would play at least one more season. At 34, Kelce is no longer the top-ranked tight end but is still one of the best players at the position.

In his stead, Sam LaPorta took over as the overall TE1 in his rookie year, finishing as the top tight end in all fantasy point formats. As such, LaPorta enters 2024 as the top tight end and favorite to repeat as the fantasy king, though he projects to have more competition for that spot in 2024 than he did in 2023.

Due to preseason injuries, these rankings will not consist of players expected to miss significant time to begin the year. TJ Hockenson, Tyler Higbee and Juwan Johnson will remain unranked until they return to the field.

All 2023 fantasy rankings are according to FantasyPros.
