3 supposed stars that should not be in fantasy lineups again this season

All of these players were drafted to be big pieces of your fantasy football team, but if they haven't cost you everything already, they will.

in most fantasy football leagues, it is time for the playoffs to start. There are a few players who should be nowhere near a starting lineup in the playoffs.

If you are in a seasonal league and you managed to qualify for the playoffs, you need to consider other options the rest of the way. If you are in a dynasty league, I would be willing to send these guys away for pennies on the dollars.

All three of these guys, who many fantasy players loved coming into this season, have been colossal flops. And there is no more room for excuses with any of them. Whether it be a bad offense, bad play-calling, bad coaching, etc., those excuses can be tolerated no longer.

These guys, just aren't very good for your fantasy team.

Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings

Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings

When the Vikings chose to move on from Dalvin Cook this offseason, fantasy players were rushing to grab Alexander Mattison. At the time, it made a lot of sense. He had always been a solid backup and now, at 25 years old, was becoming the clear lead back in the offense.

It has not translated to success.

Mattison has not had a single 100-yard rushing game this season and is averaging only 3.9 yards per carry. In addition, and most troubling, he has not scored a rushing touchdown all year (he has three receiving touchdowns).

This is not the kind of production that anyone had in mind for Mattison this season but when you look at his output, it's clearly a trend. He has rushed for less than 50 yards in eight games this season.

In addition, he had an ankle injury against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, so that may force owners to sit him, which they should do voluntarily.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

There is no doubt that the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense is not very good but even if it was, there is nothing to suggest that Najee Harris would be productive in it. He looks slow and plodding and when someone on social media referred to him as Trent Richardson 2.0 not long ago, I was in agreement.

Harris has rushed for four touchdowns on the season but like Mattison, has not gone over 100 yards and is averaging just 4.0 yards per carry. He has been held to less than 50 yards in six games this season.

If you watch a lot of Steelers games, Jaylen Warren, though limited statistically as well, is clearly the more dynamic back between the two. Harris hasn't even offered much as a receiver, catching 24 passes for 149 yards on the year.

If you happened to draft both Mattison and Harris this year, which would have looked like a solid backfield in August, you have likely had one of the most frustrating fantasy football seasons you have ever experienced.

Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos

The Broncos had a five-game winning streak snapped last week by the Houston Texans and following that loss, there was quite a bit of talk in the media about how Russell Wilson needs to give Jerry Jeudy a chance and show some confidence in the former first-round pick.

Well. Jeudy got his chances against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and he flat-out flopped. Jeudy dropped two passes when Wilson gave him a shot on long balls and he had another touchdown wiped out because he forgot to drag his second foot, something all of the great wide receivers routinely do.

He finished the game with two receptions for 16 yards, and if you look at his numbers this season, that's an average game for Jeudy. In fact, here are his per-game averages this season:

Receptions: 3.2
Yards: 39
TDs: 0.07

Those numbers aren't even good enough to be on a fantasy bench, let alone in the starting lineup. Whole the Broncos have seen Courtland Sutton reel in 10 touchdown receptions, Jeudy has one.

The Broncos should be incredibly sick of this dude and fantasy managers should give up on him. Give him away for anything you can get back in dynasty formats and in a seasonal league, he's not even worth rostering.
