3 surprising must-start running backs for Week 13
Fantasy football can be a strange game. Not long ago, the three players you will read about here were barely relevant, bench players in deep leagues or handcuffs at best. But now, as we enter a critical Week 13 in the schedule, these three players could help bring your team toward its ultimate goal.
Based off of their matchups and recent production, it makes sense to place these players in your starting lineup this week.
It is also a week where there will be six teams on a bye. Saquan Barkley and Josh Jacobs will be among the running backs taking the week off. That means you could be looking for an option this week, and one of these three players could fill that role.
Devin Singletary, Houston Texans (vs. Denver)
The Denver Broncos are the hottest team in the NFL and they have won five games in a row, but they still give up the most rushing yards per game in the league.
Devin Singletary has taken over as the lead back in Houston, a team that has been much better offensively than anyone expected.
Singletary is coming off of a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars where he only carried the ball six times for 18 yards, but he caught six passes for 54. In the two games prior, he carried the ball 52 times for 262 yards and two touchdowns.
It seemed as though Singletary, once a promising young prospect with the Buffalo Bills, was about to fall off of the fantasy football map completely. But he has found a resurgence in recent weeks and should get plenty of run against the Broncos.
