Obviously, if you drafted Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, or any of the other studs in fantasy football then it doesn’t matter who they are playing this week you just plug them in. So you won’t find any player that is a top ten ranked QB1, RB1, or WR1 on my list.

For all your other players it only makes sense to look at their matchups and react accordingly. Let’s see if we can squeeze out a few more fantasy points for your team this week by looking at players who are not every week plays, but have a great chance to boost your lineup based on their matchups. All players are outside the top ten as ranked by Fantasy Pros.

Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford - RAMS vs Cardinals - QB11 - Projected Points 18.3

Stafford finally got to work with his number one receiver and was able to end the day with 17 fantasy points against the Eagles This week he will be playing at home with Cupp already having a chance to shake off the rust and will be facing an Arizona team that gives up the 4th most yards and the 4th most fantasy points to QBs. Stafford has thrown for the fourth most yards this year and should have a great matchup.

Bryce Young - Panthers vs. Dolphins - QB24 - Projected Points 14.8

Last week against the Lions Young scored 20 Fantasy points. His opponent this week is the Dolphins who have given up more yards and more Fantasy points to QBs than the Loins. With Sanders not looking great and Hubbard rushing for 2, 41, and 35 yards over the last three weeks, look for Young to have a lot of passing attempts if they are to keep up the high-scoring Dolphins offense.

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara - Saints vs Houston - RB13 - Projected Points 12.3

Last week Kamara in just his second game back, ran for 80 yards and a touchdown against the Patriots. The Texans are giving up the 13 most rushing yards but the 7th most receiving yards to running backs. Houston has also given up the 7th most fantasy points to RBs. Since coming back he has had 21 and 19 fantasy points. He ranks 7th for those two weeks. Houston is a much better team than they get credit for, but this should be a great matchup.

Isiah Pacheco - CHIEFS vs Broncos - RB11 - Projected Points 13.2

Pacheco has scored a TD in each of the last three games. In those three games, he is RB7. The Broncos can’t seem to stop anyone at this point. Denver is last in rushing yards rushing TDs, and fantasy points given to running backs.. They are third in receiving yards and 2nd in receiving TDs to running backs.

Wide Receivers

Jordan Addison - Vikings vs Bears - WR27 - Projected Points 10.9

At this point, there is some question concerning Jeffersons’ ability to play this weekend. Addison is going to be on this list either way. The Bears are 11th most in yards, tied for the most TDs, and the 9th most in fantasy points versus wide receivers this year. This is an excellent match-up for all the Vikings receivers against the Bears DBs. The Bears haven’t won against the Vikings since 2020 even though they get two chances a year to do that. If Jefferson doesn’t play, look for Addison to have a huge game.

Michael Pittman, JR - Colts vs Jaguars - WR15 - Projected Points 11.5

Pittman has double-digit fantasy points in 4 of the 5 games. This week he is going against the Jaguars who have given up the ninth most yards and the twelfth most fantasy points to receivers. They are tied for third in the most TDs allowed to receivers. The Jaguars have given up the fourth most passing yards this year. The Jags do hurry QBs more than any other team however if the receiver catches it, they give up the 7th most yards after the catch. Pittman is the 19th-best receiver when it comes to YAC.

Tight ends

Zach Ertz - Cardinals vs Rams - TE12 - Projected Points 7.2

Ertz scored his first TD last week. This week he gets a very tight-end friendly team in the Rams. They are second in Fantasy points allowed to tight ends and give up the third most yardage. My guess is the Cardinals will need to pass a lot this weekend and Ertz should get more targets than usual.

Cade Otton - BUCCANEERS vs. Lions - TE25 - Projected Points 4.9
Otton also scored his first touchdown last week. He has the third most targets and yards for the Buccaneers. The Lions have given up the second most yards to tight ends and the sixth most fantasy points to tight ends. Playing at home he has a good chance to get his second TD.
