What a difference a week makes for D'Andre Swift. Last week against the New England Patriots, he sat on the sidelines watching Kenneth Gainwell take nearly all of the RB1 reps. He had one carry for three yards in the game.

On Thursday night against the Minnesota Vikings, with Gainwell out, Swift was the lead dog. The Philadelphia Eagles favored the run, calling 36 run plays in the game. Swift was given 28 of those carries.

This looked like the Swift that had fantasy managers salivating when he came out of college, particularly in dynasty leagues. But he never came close to living up to those expectations with the Detroit Lions. Now, he's found a home.

For his entire career, Swift had just four 100-yard rushing games. He had been a disappointment in the fantasy community but an offseason trade that sent him from the Detroit Lions to Philly re-energized those who believed in him.

After the dismal showing against New England, those hopes again seemed dashed. But not, the rollercoaster is going back up. What are managers left to do with him now? Well, I feel you're in an enviable position if you own him.

What should D'Andre Swift owners do?

If you have someone beating down your door looking to trade for him, I could certainly understand selling high, particularly if that roller coaster ride is one you are sick of being on. But at the same time, holding onto him makes just as much sense because his Week 2 performance may not be an abberation.

This is not Detroit. This is Philadelphia. The Eagles are probably the most dominant rushing team in the NFL and if they feel they have found something in Swift, and they should, he could become an absolute fantasy monster for the rest of this season.

Next. Start/Sit Week 2. Week 2 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em. dark

The Eagles like Gainwell, but he will never do what Swift did in this game. The only other running backs on the roster are Rashaad Penny and Boston Scott. Neither of those guys will threaten Swift's workload, so you could be sitting on one of fantasy footballs best stories by the end of the 2023 season.
