NFL Week 1 DFS Stack: Cleveland Browns

Dare to be different. I don't think a ton of players will be on the Browns for their Week 1 tilt against the Bengals, which features the second-highest total on the Sunday slate at 47.5. I think a lot of players will be seduced by Lamar, Jalen Hurts, and the Dolphins/Chargers game, and with good reason. But let's remember a few things about Deshaun Watson.

Watson played in just six games last season after missing the entire 2021 campaign. In his first four games, he threw two TDs and three interceptions. He threw five TD passes in the season's final two games against two picks. From 2018-2020, Watson amassed 85 TD passes with 26 interceptions. In 2020, he threw 33 TD passes. He also rushed for 444 yards and three more scores. He turns 28 next week. You get the point. I think Watson is primed for a big year.

Jon Bailey points out that Watson is a prime bounce-back candidate andDonovan Peoples-Jones has mostly been forgotten by fantasy players. Everyone wants to talk about Nick Chubb, but Kevin Stefanski has repeatedly stated his desire to throw the ball and spread it around. DPJ's production has increased in each of his three NFL seasons. DPJ will have to contend with Amari Cooper, David Njoku, and Elijah Moore, but he had 96 targets last year, including 12 against the Bengals in Watson's second game. Plus, the Browns will pass more this season.

I like a Browns stack featuring Watson, Cooper, and PeopleS-Jones. I think the Browns go over their implied total and Watson has a big day. DPJ will be a low-owned value pick at just $4300.
