Dynasty Fantasy Football: Consider moving these older RBs for value while you can
With the offseason officially here, it's important to continue to evaluate your dynasty league roster. You can often get a leg up on managers in your league just by staying up with the news which includes reading draft reports and following every transaction a team makes.
One trap you don't want to fall into is sending out trade offers simply because you are bored. The offseason can be a drag, but you don't want to hurt your roster simply because you want to see some action.
However, you should always be looking to maximizing the value on your team. Value in dynasty formats often lies within younger players with a high ceiling but also in draft picks. Draft picks can be like bars of gold in dynasty.
So as you look at your current roster, if you have one of these running backs and you feel you could flip them for a solid return, it should be considered.
Austin Ekeler is not going to be featured on this list, as to me it seems like a forgone conclusion that he should be moved for any good offer you can get right now.
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
Alvin Kamara is still the main weapon on the Saints' offense but one has to wonder how much longer that will continue.
He played in 13 games in 2023 after serving a league-mandated suspension and still posted respectable numbers for fantasy managers. He rushed for 694 yards and five touchdowns but his average of 3.9 yards per carry is a bit troubling.
Still, he caught 75 passes on the season and that is the area where he has always been the most valuable in fantasy football. Breece Hall, with 76 receptions, was the only RB with more.
You may have floated offers around for Kamara last year while trying to determine what to do with him as he had a suspension hanging over his head. If you didn't move him then, perhaps now would be the time as you likely would fetch a better return than last offseason.
Kamara will turn 29 years old before the 2024 season starts so his window of productive football could be closing. Next offseason, he could be in the same boat as Ekeler.
He still has two years remaining on his contract but he is scheduled to count $29 million against the cap in 2025, so he could definitely be a cut candidate for the team following this season.
