Early in the second quarter of the Monday Night Football game between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, fantasy football stud Nick Chubb absorbed a massive blow to his left knee which resulted in a gruesome injury. In October 2015, the four-time Pro Bowler tore his MCL, PCL, LCL, dislocated and suffered cartilage damage in this same knee while playing for the University of Georgia.

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Chubb will be out for the season, although the full extent of the injury is currently unknown. For now, the Browns will turn to sophomore running back Jerome Ford, and fantasy football players should do the same.

#3. Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford, ESPN Ownership: 9.1 percent

Ford entered the game for Chubb and essentially got three full quarters of football. The Cincinnati product took 16 carries for 106 yards, and caught three passes for 25 yards and a touchdown. Ford actually rushed 15 times against the Bengals in Week 1, but he amassed only 36 yards in those 15.

The volume is obviously very beneficial to Ford's value in fantasy football, and in real life Deshaun Watson continues to struggle. Chubb's understudy will be his natural replacement in both facets, and the low ownership in ESPN fantasy formats certainly makes his addition more achievable for those who need him.

As long as Cleveland's passing game remains in second gear, Ford will continue to shoulder the same workload Chubb would have had if healthy. Although, it wouldn't come as a surprise to see the Browns add a veteran running back to help take some pressure off of Ford. Perhaps a reunion with former RB Kareem Hunt could be in the works.
