Fantasy Football: Lamar Jackson among 5 bold predictions for Week 8

5.) Saquon Barkley is limited vs New York Jets
Both New Jersey teams face off this week in MetLife, as the Jets and Giants look to build off their previous games in which both came out victorious. One of the storylines this season up to this point is how dominant the Jets’ defense has been this season and have not truly been a unit to worry about.
At the end of the day, teams are not preparing as much for Zach Wilson like they are with the Jets’ defense. Giants’ running back Saquon Barkley has only played in four games this season due to injury and has yet to eclipse 100 rushing yards. Barkley currently has posted 53.1 fantasy points this season, with more receiving touchdowns (2) instead of rushing touchdowns (1).
The Giants’ offense is having a year to forget compared to last year because of an injury bug at quarterback, Barkley missing 3 games, and the offensive line at one point being down 4 starters. As they head into this matchup against the Jets, quarterback Tyrod Taylor will see his third consecutive start with Daniel Jones being ruled out once again.
The running game for the Giants could be the starter to get the offense going, which gives Barkley an advantage. The only issue is that the last two weeks, the Jets’ defense has limited the run after giving up over 200 rushing yards against the Kansas City Chiefs.
While Barkley is a generational type of talented player, the Jets’ defensive line is stronger and more physical than the Giants’ offensive line. Expect Barkley to not get much high volume in this matchup.
