Fantasy Football: One QB, RB, WR, and TE primed for huge Week 6 performances

The first five weeks of the 2023 NFL season have been full of surprises, both positive and negative. These surprises have had significant impacts on the landscape of fantasy football, causing us to re-evaluate everything we thought we knew before the season.

WR: Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers

Adam Thielen is turning back the clock in his first season with the Panthers and has been looking like the Pro Bowl receiver he was in 2017 and 2018, acting as a safety valve for rookie quarterback Bryce Young (as well as Andy Dalton for one game). He's been a top 10 wide receiver in PPR leagues and showing no signs of slowing down.

The 0-5 Panthers will continue to face a negative game script, especially this weekend when they are 14-point underdogs against the Dolphins, and will certainly need to score points to keep pace with what has been the most potent offense in the NFL thus far. While it may not bode well for the Panthers real-life prospects, it certainly helps Thielen from a fantasy football perspective.

Through five weeks, Thielen is averaging 7.6 receptions and 78.8 yards on 9.2 targets per game. He has had seven-plus receptions in each of the last four games and exactly 11 receptions in two of the past three. Thielen is going to remain a big part of the offense moving forward, especially given the fact that no one else has been able to emerge as a viable counterpart. Start Thielen with confidence in Week 6 and expect another WR1 finish from him.
