Fantasy Football: One QB, RB, WR, and TE primed for huge Week 7 performances
By Lior Lampert
RB: Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers
There’s been a popular expression tossed around in fantasy football circles this season: Start your fantasy players when they face the Broncos. While Aaron Jones’ placement on this list is equally attributed to his dynamic playmaking ability, a matchup against an inviting Broncos defense only makes him a more intriguing option.
In Week 1, Jones was the overall RB1 in fantasy football, recording 26.7 PPR points. However, Jones suffered a hamstring injury during the game that forced him to miss three of the next four games and he was on a snap count in the one game he was able to suit up for since suffering the injury. The Packers are coming off their Week 6 bye, so Jones has had ample time to rest up and make sure he is as close to 100 percent as possible.
The Broncos rank dead last in the NFL in opponent rushing yards per game (172.3) by a wide margin and are also last in opponent points per game (33.3). Per Yahoo Fantasy, the Broncos also rank last in fantasy points per game given up to the running back position (35.5).
While Jones is a running back, there’s a case to be made that he is also the best receiver on the Packers given how young and inexperienced their receiving corps is. He’s caught at least 50 passes in each of the last two seasons and was the Packers leading receiver in Week 1 despite suffering an injury.
Barring any setbacks that limit Jones physically, he’s in for a huge game against the Broncos.
