WR: Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins

Last season’s overall PPR WR8, Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle has not gotten off to a great start to begin the 2023 campaign. In 2022, Waddle turned 75 receptions into 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns. He and wide receiver Tyreek Hill established themselves as arguably the best receiving duo in the NFL last season. After averaging just under seven targets per game last season, Waddle has failed to earn more than six targets in any game this season. Luckily, he has a perfect get-right opportunity against a helpless Giants defense in Week 5.

Known for being a big-play threat any time he touches the football thanks to his blazing speed, Waddle has averaged 17.8 yards per reception dating back to last season, and will now face a Giants defense that ranks 27th in opponent yards per completion (11.2). The Dolphins offense has been the most potent in the NFL over the first month of the season and their expected point total in this game is 30.5.

After a slow start to the season, the Dolphins could try to funnel targets Waddle’s way to try and get him going. The squeaky wheel treatment and a matchup with the Giants is exactly what the doctor ordered for Waddle to have his first breakout game of 2023.
